Weekend Movie - Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol

Wow. It's been a while. The end of the year has been nuts with work, my grandmother getting ill, and then of course the holidays. Luckily, I have had this week off so I have been able to breathe a little bit.

For awhile, there weren't any good movies out and then all of a sudden I want to see every movie ever! So I started off with Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and it didn't disappoint in the least. This is definitely one of the few franchises that has been able to last through multiple sequels that have been just as amazing as the previous. Tom Cruise is looking a tiny bit old, but he did all of his own stunts so I guess he's not too old. Some of the things these writers come up with are just freaking awesome. And to make this movie even better, it's directed by a Pixar alum, Brad Bird. He directed The Incredibles. Who knew that someone could go from animation to live action without even skipping a beat. See this movie!

Weekend Movie - Margin Call

I never heard of this movie until my dad wanted to see it and wow was it awesome and freaking scary all at the same time. Makes me hate corporate America even more and I didn't even think that was possible. After working for a big corporation I didn't think it could get any worse, but it has. The movie has an awesome cast and an awesome script and a really crazy storyline based on real events so it's kind of a win win. I definitely recommend it. The movie maps the last 24 hours of Lehman Brothers before it went away for good. They realized that their losses were going to be more than the worth of the company so they went and did some pretty shady shit. Kind of sad to see all the innocent people that got roped into the shitty situation. Sad to see how many people lost their jobs at one time for absolutely no reason and it was disgusting to see how much money some of these people make and how quickly they blow it. The worst part for me was seeing how knowledgable the workers are and how dumb the bosses are. The leader of the entire group didn't even know how to read the reports the office was putting together and the big time owner asked people to talk to him like a child because he didn't understand any of the lingo. How the hell do these people get into these big positions without even knowing what things mean? Obviously, they know how things run, but to not even be able to read a report if you had to makes me sick. To me, that's like a soccer coach not knowing how to play soccer, just knowing that the ball needs to get into the net to win. It just baffles me that companies are run this way. Anyway, it's a good movie and definitely worth a look see. Hope everyone is having an awesome Thanksgiving weekend.

Weekend Movie - Contagion

Disaster movies and end of the world movies always scare me because they're not too far fetched. Certain aspects are, but anything is possible, really. Ice caps melting and drowning us. Asteroids hitting the Earth and killing us. Totally plausible. So seeing Contagion was just another movie to add to that list. I'm not going to lie, this movie is scary. Something so simple created a huge problem in the world. I don't want to ruin it in case you haven't seen it yet, but the cause of the outbreak is so simple and that's what makes the movie so scary. I'm never going anywhere without hand sanitizer again! Another thing that scared the crap out of me is the fact that the human race falls apart so easily. People will do anything to get an antidote. They will rob you, trample you, kill you, anything to get what they need to stay alive. People stop thinking normally and just do anything to survive. It makes me realize where the saying "every man for himself" came from.

Aside from the scary shit, the movie is pretty good. Every good actor ever is in this movie so that helps for sure, but the way the movie is mapped out is pretty well done as well. The movie starts on day 2 and continues through with everyone getting sick and what not and the last scene is day 1 and how the outbreak started. Interesting concept. Kind of wraps everything into a nice little ball. There were some aspects left unanswered making me wonder if there will be a Contagion 2, but part of me just hopes that everything was fine in the world again after the credits rolled.

Weekend Movie - Cowboys & Aliens

I was finally able to hit the theatres this weekend to see Cowboys and Aliens. I was a little scared going into it because I kept hearing bad reviews, but I thought the movie was really good. I'm not sure why people aren't liking it. It's an alien movie, but it's set in another time period. People eat up alien movies so I'm not sure why this one is any different. I think changing the time period makes the movie more interesting. I mean, if we saw aliens in 2011 we wouldn't be too surprised. We know there's something else out there, but I don't think cowboys ever thought about that stuff so to see alien arrivals from their perspective makes the movie more interesting. There was never a moment where I knew what was going to happen. It was all very unpredictable and good.

The premise is pretty simple. Aliens come to earth and start stealing gold and the cowboys want to stop them. Simple, but awesome. If you put reality aside, which you usually have to do for alien movies, this movie is good. So yes, this movie is on my recommendation list.

Weekend Movie - Horrible Bosses

A lot of stuff happened this weekend. There was "Carmageddon," which was so ridiculous and if I hear one more thing about it I'm going to scream.

And there was the final World Cup Game, which was so intense I don't think I took a breathe for 130 minutes. USA lost to Japan in shoot outs. I could have cried, but I guess Japan has gone through a lot as a nation and deserved the win. I will still wear my USA soccer jacket proudly even though their defense could have been better.

Anyway, amongst all of that, I was still able to make it to the movie theatre to see Horrible Bosses. I don't think I ever would have seen it if it weren't for co-workers telling me how funny it was. And they were right. It was definitely funny. I was laughing throughout pretty steadily. Three friends have these horrible bosses, each for a different reason and one night at the barthey joke about killing their bosses. It later turns into a real plan and they actively try to go out and kill their bosses. In the end, everything works out and they all become happy with their work environments. God I wish it was that easy. I guess a girl can dream. If you have a horrible boss you dream of killing, you have to see this movie. Even if you don't have a horrible boss, this movie is funny and worth seeing. Jason Bateman always makes me laugh.

Weekend Movie - Cars 2

All I have to say is that all the critics can kiss my butt. Cars 2 was very good. It was very clever and entertaining. It was basically a spy movie in cartoon form and instead of people, the characters were cars. Very awesome. I mean, if the critics went in thinking it was just going to be another racing movie, than sure they wouldn't like it, but I think they're dumb. Pixar always has the most clever ideas when it comes to the littlest things and I definitely think that makes them stand out from the rest. The all star cast didn't hurt either. If you haven't seen this movie yet and aren't sure if you want to because of what the critics are saying, ignore them and go see it! The movie has a tiny bit of politics in it when it comes to using gasoline versus finding another form of fuel, but there's so much more to the story and the tiny bit of politics can be over looked. It's hard to even begin to explain the plot line so you just have to see it.

The short before the movie was a Toy Story short where Ken and Barbie think their going to Hawaii, but they get inside the wrong travel bag. The rest of the toys feel bad for them so they try to create Hawaii in the bedroom. So freaking cute. Again, Pixar and their cleverness takes the prize.

We saw it at the El Capitan and afterwards, they had this Gran Prix thing at Hollywood High School and even that was awesome. They had tricycle racing and picture taking and it was all set up like the movie. They even put down a floor so it looked like we were walking on a newly paved road. You could even make Lego cars and race them down a track. So cool! I felt like I was 10 years old. Definitely an awesome time. I definitely recommend seeing the movie at the El Cap so you can experience the after show.

Weekend Movie- Kung Fu Panda 2

To be honest, I saw this movie last Thursday night, but we’ll call it a weekend movie. I tried to watch the first movie right before seeing this one, but I was only able to get through the first half before my privileges were taken away by free movie viewing web sites. But what I saw, I liked. The storyline was very cute so I was excited to see the second one. I was pleasantly surprised. DreamWorks is an amazing company and they do amazing things, but sometimes they have the potential to make lousy movies. This series is not one of them. It had me laughing and feeling my heart ping all at the same time. I think what I like the most is that there is a message for everyone. The first movie is all about making your own destiny and the second one is all about taking advantage of what you have and being thankful for it. I think my favorite line from the first movie is a line the wise turtle says “the past is history and the future is a mystery, but today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present.” Amazing. That line will stick with me. So needless to say, I recommend the movie. The panda gets to kick more butt and win of course.

I watched a behind the scenes video from DreamWorks and the animators got to play with baby pandas before making the movie. I’m so jealous. I want to play with a baby panda. I loved seeing all the research they did with their visit to China. They did an amazing job with all the animation. Definitely a must see.

Weekend Movies and Show - Thor, Bridesmaids and God of Carnage

This weekend was a little jam packed with entertainment, which was a very nice change of pace. My boss gave everyone in our office movie passes for making him look good and he told us to go to the movies during our work time so on Friday, his assistant and I went to see Thor. It was totally not what I expected. I thought it was going to be a total war movie, but it wasn't at all. I mean there was fighting and what not, but not all out war. Basically, there is Thor in his world and he does something bad to get him banished by his father to Earth. There he meets Natalie Portman and her friends and his goal is to get back to his home. Other stuff ensues, but that would just ruin the movie. Natalie Portman has been searching for other life forms her whole life and then this guy comes along and proves her theories right and they fall in love blah blah. There were some very cheesy parts to the movie, but it was entertaining. If you're looking for mind numbing fun, this might be a good movie. I think Natalie Portman needs to pick it back up though. She was in an awesome award winning role and then does stupid movies like Thor.

On Saturday night I saw Bridesmaids because I kept hearing how awesome it was. People get saying it was the female version of The Hangover. I disagree completely. The Hangover was funny and had me laughing a lot, but Bridesmaids just made me sad. People around me were dying of laughter and I was just sad. The stuff that happened in the movie was sad. The main character was losing her best friend and destroying her happy moments and it just wasn't funny. Obviously, everything turns out good in the end. It definitely had me laughing at some points, but for the most part it made me feel bad for the characters. It's not necessarily a chick flick so if you're interested, you should see it.

Finally, last night I saw God of Carnage at the Ahmanson with my mom. I wanted to see it so badly because of Marcia Gay Harden and Jeff Daniels and of course they were both amazing. It's about these 2 couples coming together to discuss the fact that one kid hit the other kid with a stick and knocked 2 teeth out. The rest of the drama ensues from there. The set was destroyed by the end of the show. It had me laughing quite a bit. All the actors were from the original Broadway show and they won some awards so it was an awesome privilege to see them.

Weekend Movie 2 – Fast Five

This weekend was movie filled, which was definitely nice since I feel like I haven’t seen a movie in a long time. Friday night was Fast Five night with all the teenagers. I love stupid action movies and this movie pretty much makes that category. It was stupid and the acting was terrible, but the action sequences make up for everything bad. Somewhere along the line the movie makers forgot that Newton’s Law exists, but the action was so cool that you kind of have to let it all go. Plus the cars just make you want to drool. If you like the action movies than you have to see this movie, but you have been warned that The Rock is almost as bad at Keanu Reeves. It’s kind of sad. But if you put all of that aside, you’ll be fine.

Weekend Movie - Pirates of the Caribbean on Strangers Tides at Disneyland

I hope everyone had an awesome weekend! I had the good fortune of getting to attend the world premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides at Disneyland. It was kind of amazing. I got to walk the black carpet in front of all the paparazzi, which was very intimidating. I don't know how people do it. All the rides in Frontier Land and New Orleans Square were open so we got to ride those over and over. All the food at the kiosks was free. There was a full buffet for dinner as well. So that part was awesome all in itself. I've never walked on to so many rides in my life.

Then, the best part comes. Disneyland set up movie theatre seats stadium style in the Tom Sawyer lagoon, which was very impressive. The movie screen was on an island that they built right in front of Tom Sawyer Island. We got free pop corn and drinks, but wait for it: Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz were there too along with the rest of the cast. This I was not expecting. I just thought that we were going to see the movie and go home. The producer, Jerry Bruckheimer walked out on stage and I was very excited and then when the rest of the cast came out I was speechless. It was definitely a pleasure to see them.

The movie was pretty good too. I feel like the last 3 were a little confusing for some reason, but this one seemed straight forward. I also don't feel like it needed the other 3 movies to exist. This one kind of stands on its own. I think the mermaids were my favorite. They were sweet and cute and then they turned evil and I kind of liked that about them. People always think of Ariel when they hear someone talking about mermaids so this was a nice change of pace. Their fins were super cool too. The CG was really well done. Definitely see this movie when it comes out.

Weekend Movie - The Lincoln Lawyer

I was finally able to relax this weekend and see a movie. I don't even know how long it's been since I saw a movie in the theatre. It kind of felt good. So I saw The Lincoln Lawyer with the family and it was kind of awesome. My dad read the book because he loves Michael Connelly and he said it was pretty close to the book, which is hard to come by these days. The movie is about a lawyer, Matthew McConaughey, who defends the criminals and has a good reputation because he gets them back on the streets. He's handed one case that he knows is wrong and the movie is about him trying to finally make things right. It's twisted and good.

Matthew McConaughey always does stupid romantic comedies so it was kind of nice to see him in something serious. He never took his shirt off in this movie and that kind of surprised me. I swear it's in his contract somewhere. I did want him in some shower scenes though. He always looks so damn dirty. I know he doesn't believe in deodorant and what not, but you think he would at least look semi clean in a lawyer role.

I realized during this movie that Ryan Phillippe is not a good actor. I used to be obsessed with I Know What You Did Last Summer and I thought he was good in that, but when I look back on it, a monkey could have played his role. Ryan is the bad guy in this movie and there was one point where he was on trial and he was yelling and being all dramatic and he could make his bottom lip quiver like he was going to cry, but the close up was on his eyes and they were very dry. If you're going to pull the lip quiver, at least get some tears in those eyes.

All in all, the movie is good. If you're into lawyer, semi-action movies than you will enjoy this one.

Weekend Movie - Buried

I had mentioned a million years ago that I wanted to see the movie Buried. I finally got to see it on Friday night because it showed up at the Red Box near my apartment. I'm so glad I didn't see this movie in theatres. It was very intense and I kind of wanted to throw things. Ryan Reynolds is the only person seen during the entire movie. There are 21 other actors, but they're all only heard over the cell phone he's left with.

As I've mentioned before, I love psychological thrillers, but I don't think this one falls under that category. Yeah, it was a thriller and it may have been psychological because Ryan was trapped in a box with a few essentials to try to escape, but I don't think there was enough thriller. Yes, he's faced with different challenges such as a snake finding it's way into the coffin he's trapped in and the battery to his cell phone running out, but that's not really enough for me. I don't want to give too much away, but I didn't like the ending. It could only have gone one of two ways: they find him and he lives or they don't and he dies. I don't want to tell you which ending they chose, but now that I think about I don't think I would have liked either ending. They're both so basic and whatever. I think he should have found a way to get himself out or something. The premise was all too basic.

As for the filming, it was cool. I read on IMDB that they used 7 different coffins. Obviously, each coffin used had a different side taken out so they could film. Ryan Reynolds did a good job. I mean it has to be hard to act to someone over the phone while laying on your back the entire time.

I'm glad I got the movie for free with a Red Box gift card because it just wasn't worth much more. I guess that's why it didn't stay in theatres for too long.

Weekend Movie - True Grit

Every time the movie award season comes around, I try to see as many of the nominated movies as possible to kind of judge for myself. I haven't seen a lot of them so I thought I would try to catch up this weekend. I have Social Network waiting for me today, but I saw True Grit on Sunday. First of all, if you've never been to Gold Class Cinema in Pasadena, you have to go. This place is so amazing. If you ever need a good date place, this is it. Although, it can be a little pricey.

I've heard some really good things about True Grit. I heard the main girl, who is actually 14 in real life and not a 25 year old playing a 14 year old is amazing and of course Jeff Bridges is amazing. I have to say that I didn't care much for the 14 year old. I thought she was kind of annoying and I feel like she over acted a little. Jeff Bridges was amazing though.

The story is nothing complicated. Mattie Ross's, the 14 year old actress, father was shot and killed and she does everything in her power to seek justice. She hires Rooster Cogburn, Jeff Bridges, to hunt down the man who killed her father. Mattie invites herself on the hunt for this man through the back woods area. The movie is all about their trials and tribulations on finding this man.

I thought the movie was going to be more eventful than it was. I found the movie entertaining, I just kind of expected more. Matt Damon never ceases to surprise me. He's so versatile and I really like that about him. So if you're in the mood for a good western, feel free to check this one out. I'm debating on seeing the original. I feel like I should since my dad is a huge John Wayne fan.

Weekend Movie - Tangled

What a weekend, huh? Crazy shooter man killing and wounding a bunch of people including a congresswoman and a judge in Arizona. Insane stuff. So what better way to escape all that than with a Disney cartoon. I was finally able to gather the troops and see Tangled. My dad had some work to do so my mom and grandma were finally able to see the movie too. So cute!

I know Disney said they would stop making princess movies, but I think this one falls under Disney animation and not Disney princess. The male character, Flynn, was just as prominent if not more so than the female character, Rapunzel. It was a very good balance for boys and girls. Well, the movie isn't really for kids, but no Disney movie ever is. Either way, I think little boys would have been just as intrigued with this movie as little girls. I'm sure that was the goal anyway.

I was surprised there was singing in the movie. I know the majority of Disney movies have singing, but I didn't think this movie needed it. Rapunzel sang a song to allow her magical powers to come to life and that worked with the movie, but the rest of the singing for me wasn't necessary.

The plot was along the lines of the typical Rapunzel stories where she's locked in a tower and a man comes and finds her and saves her. Rapunzel's mom got very sick when she was giving birth and she was healed with a magical flower in turn causing Rapunzel to have magical powers. Rapunzel's hair comes to life and can turn anyone younger and heal any wounds so this old lady steals her when she's a baby and locks her in this tower so she can use the powers to stay young forever.

Rapunzel thinks this lady is her mother and has no idea about the outside world. She meets Flynn, who is a thief hiding in her tower and she asks him to take her to the castle because every year on her birthday they send floating lanterns into the air that she can see from her window and she wants to see them up close. Throughout the movie, she figures out that she's the reason they float the lanterns. It's her king and queen parents looking for their lost princess. Of course, Flynn and Rapunzel fall in love and live happily ever after in the castle. Simple and fun.

There were parts where I was totally teary eyed. I don't know why. I guess the movie was kind of heart warming.

The lantern scenes were so pretty! The animation was definitely amazing. This movie ranks high on my Disney animation movies list. Oh and the iguana was the best side kick ever! I want him. This is a must see!

Weekend Movie - The Fighter

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend. I know some of you are probably at work and some of you aren’t. For those of you at work, I’m very sorry. For those of you at home, I hope you’re having a good day off.

I saw The Fighter this weekend with the family on Christmas Day as the Jews do. It was alright. I kind of expected more to be honest. The acting was amazing though and the story was heart warming. I guess I wanted more boxing montages. I’m used to Rocky and all the fighting scenes and what not.

I dislike Christian Bale a lot as a person. He’s such a douche bag, but he’s such a good actor. It’s so hard to hate him when he’s so good at what he does. During the credits, they showed a video of the people the movie was based on and Christian Bale pretty much played his character perfectly. So annoying. He lost so much weight to play his character too. Like I said, it's hard to hate someone who can be such a good actor.

The story is about 2 boxing brothers. The older brother Dicky, played by Christian Bale is a professional boxer and teaches his younger brother Micky, played by Mark Wahlberg to box. Dicky is over taken by drug addiction and that ends his boxing career, but he takes his younger brother under his wing and helps him win the top boxing title. Like I said, very heart warming. Dicky was able to over come drugs and help his brother. Amy Adams is kind of amazing. It’s so hard to believe that she’s the same girl form Enchanted. She’s really versatile and I love it!

So over all, the movie was good. Just don't go into it expecting too much boxing.

Weekend Movie - Morning Glory

It's so refreshing to finally see a really good movie. Don't get me wrong, the last few movies I saw were good, but they didn't make me want to change anything about my life after seeing them. Morning Glory made me want to go out in the world and make a difference. So amazing!

I had no expectations going into this movie. I love Rachel McAdams so I had a feeling this movie was going to be good, but that's about it. She tends to pick some good movies. Harrison Ford is well Harrison Ford so he didn't excite me too much. Diane Keaton is the same way to me. She's alright, but Rachel McAdams definitely made this movie. Her character is a morning show producer and just when she thinks she's going to get put into a higher position, she gets fired and needs to look for another job. She gets hired by the worst rated morning show and now has to make the ratings higher. Well, of course she succeeds and they all live happily ever after. I know that sounds simple, but she's of course faced with trials and tribulations along the way and Harrison Ford helps her out in the end and they create an amazing show. She becomes highly respected and the top rated shows want her as their producer. She turns them down to remain with her TV show family. Sigh. I would do the same if I were in her shoes.

I always have the privilege of sitting next to people who think they're in their living rooms. The girl next to me half way through the movie says to her friend, "OMG it's Regina George." That made me sooo sad. Yeah, Rachel McAdams was in Mean Girls, but she's been in so many other things since and the fact that those girls weren't seeing the movie for her made me sad too. They were teenagers so I guess I can give it to them.

Anyway, this movie made me want to quit my job and go run a news show or something. It just made me want to take something not so great and make it better. So, if you're in need of a pick me up than you have to see this movie.

Weekend Movie - RED

Finally! I saw a movie this past weekend. I haven't seen one in forever so it felt nice.

Retired, Extremely Dangerous. The title is a bit odd until you see the movie and then it makes total sense. RED is the stamp that's put on the folders of those who are retired, but still possess all the CIA skills to kill. I went into the movie expecting nothing because I heard mixed reviews, but the movie was awesome. I'm not the biggest fan of Bruce Willis, but he was pretty awesome in this movie. The stunt and action sequences made my entire week. They weren't just your everyday explosions. They were people being blown up and cars spinning and all this stuff. They were very clever in execution and it made old people look like bad asses. I found myself a tiny bit bored by the story and just wanted to see more people get blown up, but for the most part this movie is a must see.

The kids behind me decided that they were sitting in their living room and not a theatre so they were talking out loud and commenting on everything in the movie. I almost killed them, but decided they could live. This movie is still in the top 10 and it's been out for some time so you should all hit the theatres and go see it. And then when it comes out on DVD you should go out and buy it and watch it over and over again.

Weekend Movie - Legend of the Guardians

I had absolutely no desire to see Legend of the Guardians because it just looked bad, but my grandma really wanted to see it and I'm a nice grand daughter so I took her to see the movie on Saturday night. I heard the CG and animation was amazing, but the story wasn't so great. That review was completely spot on. There were so many holes in the story line, my grandma and I could barely follow it. At one point, there was a plot change and we kind of looked at each other and thought "when the hell did that happen?" If we can't follow the story, how the hell are the kids supposed to follow it?

Just like any other kids movie, the plot is good versus evil and the good overcoming the evil and living happily ever after. As I said, the CG was kind of amazing. I was so distracted by the owls. They were pretty amazing looking, although their beaks were kind of creepy and I couldn't stop looking at them, but otherwise the animation was pretty awesome. I saw it in 3D because because that was the only way my grandma wanted to see it. There were only a few 3D moments where something would pop out of the screen, but for the most part it didn't seem 3D. It was kind of a waste of money in that respect. So if you have kids, don't torture yourself with this movie. The kids will love it, but you'll want to die a little. Wait for a Pixar movie instead.

Weekend Movie - The Town

I hope everyone had a great, super hot weekend. Since it was so hot, my family and I decided to see a movie. I mean what better place to spend your hot day than in a room with the AC on full blast watching a movie? Anyway, we decided to see The Town. It's written by, directed by, and starring Ben Affleck. We all heard amazing things about the movie. I never saw Good Will Hunting so I wasn't really sure of his capabilities. The movie was pretty good. Nothing super special like we all kept hearing, but it was pretty good. It's about these bank robbers and everything in the story is typical of a bank robber story. They rob a bunch of banks and eventually get caught. This movie was basically every bank robber movie rolled up into one. By the end, I was still impressed that Ben Affleck did all the work until I saw that the movie is based on a book called Prince of Thieves by Chuck Hogan. Now I'm not so impressed. He pretty much read a book and wrote the movie word for word. This is the description of the book:

The dark third novel by the author of The Standoff isn't the fast-paced thriller it's marketed to be. It is, rather, a story of doomed love focusing on Doug MacRay, a Boston-based career thief (he comes from Charlestown, "a breeding ground for bank and armored-car robbers") who becomes enamored with the manager of the bank he and his pals have just robbed. Claire Keesey, who has been badly traumatized by the robbery, later begins to develop feelings for him as well, unaware that a masked MacRay was the lead perpetrator in the heist that turned her life upside down. Hogan then leads readers through a long-winded labyrinth of inner reflection as Doug spends much of the book pondering whether he should quit the criminal life in order to pursue a deeper relationship with Claire.

And this is the description of the movie:

A divide begins to open between two career criminals when Jem takes bank manager Claire Keesey hostage during a particularly tense heist, and the group subsequently discovers that she hails from their own tight-knit suburb. When Jem proposes that the gang make an effort to find out just how much Claire recalls about the crime, Doug fears that his volatile partner may do more harm than good and volunteers himself for the job. Later, Doug turns on the charm while pretending to bump into Claire by chance, and becomes convinced that she doesn't suspect him of being the same man who just robbed her bank. As the feds turn up the heat on the gang, Doug finds himself falling for Claire, and searching desperately for a means of cutting his ties to his criminal past.

Sounds exactly the same to me. So Ben Affleck didn't really write anything. He kind of just copied what another writer wrote. Sad day. Other than that, the movie is action filled and entertaining. Be sure to bring your Boston accent ear though because sometimes Ben Affleck goes a little over board and it's hard to understand what he says sometimes.

Weekend Movie - Easy A

I was so excited that Easy A hit theatres. I've seen previews for a while and it's finally here. This movie looked good in previews and it pretty much lived up to those previews. I found myself laughing quite a bit and that's not a common occurrence. The script is so witty. It's similar to Juno in that sense. Juno is a little darker, but the pace and sarcasm is very similar. In case you're unfamiliar, the movie is about a girl who pretends to have sex with all these guys to make them seem cool. She's deemed a slut, but she kind of embraces it. Pretty simple premise, but hilarious. There was this lady who laughed so hard at one point during the movie that she started to snort causing everyone around her to laugh. It was awesome.

I freaking love Emma Stone. She has stolen my heart. She has impeccable timing making the movie even funnier. I kind of want to look her up on IMDB and watch all of her movies. I highly recommend seeing this. It's definitely a movie that can easily be watched over and over. I think I might do that.
