Disney Dust

Another Disney Channel star is on the way to biting that dust, only this time it’s been a long time coming. Miley Cyrus has been in and out of the insane media with pictures of her smoking or taking pictures of herself half naked. This time, Billy Ray is speaking out. He blames Hannah Montana for all the insane stuff happening to Miley and their family. I guess Billy recently divorced his wife and of course, Miley is still Miley. It makes me sad because the show can actually be entertaining and Miley is actually kind of talented. Unfortunately, she’s a teenager with a bunch of parents watching her every move to see if she’s ok for their children to watch. Teenagers do crazy stuff like smoke weed and take crazy pictures. She just happened to do it in the eyes of the public. It sucks to be a teenage star on the Disney channel. I think we all should have learned our lesson long ago with Hilary Duff. She had to sprint away from the Disney scene to keep her head on straight. Billy Ray gets all the blame because he’s Miley’s dad, but kids do things all the time that their parents don’t know about. It’s the way growing up is. I guess pictures of Miley smoking a bong were released in December and he’s all heart broken about it and now she’s not really speaking to him. They should have ended Hannah Montana when they had the chance and Miley should have taken a small break and then come back away from Disney. As much as I love Disney, their channel seems to ruin teen actors.

Slutty Cyrus

Talk about trying to get kicked off of the Disney channel. Miley Cyrus has obviously been trying to break out of her role as Hannah Montana for some time and she’s not the only one who has done outrageous things to do so.

Jessica Biel for instance wanted out of 7th Heaven so badly that she basically posed nude in a magazine and then was promptly fired from the show.

So, dressing like a slut and doing bad things is obviously common. Miley Cyrus has been dressing incredibly slutty during her concerts as well as dancing on polls and making out with chicks during her performance at the Teen Choice Awards earlier this year.

Honestly, I’m fine with dressing a little crazy to get some attention, but because she’s a star on the Disney channel, I’m not fine with it.

Dressing in crazy outfits made Britney Spears and Lady Gaga famous, but they don’t have any images to uphold other than their own. Miley has the Hannah Montana image to uphold. As a parent, I would be upset if my child’s favorite Disney character dressed like a slut off screen.

I would think that Miley’s parents wouldn’t like this either. Bill Ray seems to be a wholesome person and he just lets his daughter prance around in her underwear? Seems odd to me. And to top it off, this isn’t the first time pictures of her in her underwear have emerged. The first time she took pictures of herself and someone leaked them to the internet and now she’s doing it all on her own volition. Do you think I'm being over protective?

Always and Forever

I love watching Disney channel as much as the next 12 year old and Hannah Montana is probably one of the most popular shows on there. I will admit that I saw the movie and watch the show when I stumble across it during my late night channel surfing and I watched Miley Cyrus’s London concert on Hulu. Her music is catchy and it’s always interesting to see what more she does that puts her under the magnifying glass.

All the 12 year olds, including myself were saddened when we heard that the Hannah Montana show was going away forever. Of course, Disney channel would re-run the crap out of the show the way they do now, but it was still sad to know there wouldn’t be any new shows. Until, Sunday night when Hannah Montana Forever premiered. So wait, let me get this straight. You end Hannah Montana so that Miley Cyrus can become an adult and you start a new series called Hannah Montana Forever? Interesting and kind of ass backwards. Makes me wonder if Miley said to herself “oh shit without Hannah Montana my career is over because I’m an awful actress.” I’m also almost positive that Disney channel gave her no choice in the matter since all of their money the last few years has come from that show and all its ridiculous merchandise.

The new plot line is Billy Ray Cyrus buys a bigger home in Malibu just down the street from their old home and they live their lives basically the same way as in the original series. Seems simple enough. Miley and her friends will more than likely get themselves into trouble the same way as before and each episode will end on a happy note. So why end the original show in the first place? Maybe Hannah Montana was fading and this was a way to bring attention back to it? Who knows. If only I could make that kind of money for singing some silly songs and prancing around on camera.

Achy Breaky Heart

Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana has been pretty popular for some time now. People always wonder when the 5 minutes of fame will fade, but I honestly think that if Hannah does fade, Miley won’t. I think she can find a way around Disney. Most Disney stars tend to branch off from Disney and never do another movie or TV show again and not because they don’t have anyone that wants them, but because Disney sucks your soul. Miley has done a few things to piss Disney off, such as pole dance at the Teen Choice Awards:

That is no way for a 10 year old to view Hannah Montana. So because of all that, I think Miley will find her way into the adult lime light.

Yes, my friends and I saw the Hannah Montana movie and freaking loved it. Yes, we went home and downloaded the music and watched the Hoedown Throw Down dance number over and over until we learned bits and pieces. Yes, we had the song stuck in our heads for days. We will even rent the movie and watch it again when there is nothing else to watch. Heck, I’m sure one of my friends even has a boot leg copy by now.

Miley is quite entertaining. Her show is on alllllll the time for a reason. One of my friends even admits to watching reruns at 2am. Don’t we all?!?! Well, I hope that Miley can keep on movin’ and bringing us all awesomely horrible musicals. Live on Miley.
