Scary Mickey

It's almost Halloween and I'm so excited. I can't wait! I've been actively holding myself back from putting up the Halloween decorations so they don't get boring by the time Halloween rolls around. I'll wait until at least Oct 1, which is just around the corner. Everyone gets into the spirit making the month of October the best month ever. All the theme parks get super into themeing. Even SeaWorld is going to do a Halloween theme this year. I know because my company built it. Anyway, I was on the Disney blog the other day and saw all their new Halloween merch and I'm kid of disappointed. When I think of Disneyland Halloween, I think of cute things that would look cute on a mantel or counter, but for some reason this year they're taking the scarier route. Instead of cute Mickey faces on pumpkins, they have scary Mickey faces on pumpkins. Dislike! I mean there are still some cute things, but for the most part it's all scary Mickey faces. See for yourself.

Good Friday

Is it Halloween yet? I can’t wait! I keep reading about so many awesome Halloween events happening this year. Now that people are starting to have money again, they’re going all out. Especially, Universal. This year, their tram tour theme will be Scream. Honestly, that sounds pretty cool. It’s going to be called “Terror Tram: Scream 4 Your Life.” The title is kind of lame, but I like the Scream movies. They entertain me for some reason so this sounds very cool.

Universal is also bringing in some big names to create some awesome mazes. I hate mazes because I hate people jumping out at me, which is ironic because Halloween is my favorite holiday, but I would have loved to work on all of this stuff. Universal brought in Eli Roth to create “Eli Roth's Hostel: Hunting Season" maze. They also brought in Alice Cooper to present "Alice Cooper: Welcome to My Nightmare" and they even brought in Rob Zombie for "Rob Zombie's House of 1000 Corpses: In 3D ZombieVision." A 3D maze? That’s kind of insane and it sounds freaking terrifying. I know some people working on the Bill and Ted show as well and it’s supposed to be awesome again this year. I worked on it the first year they brought Halloween back to Universal in 2007. It was so much fun! I would kill to do that again.

Halloween, please come faster!

Manic Monday

I hope everyone had an awesome Halloween! I hope you all handed out candy and saw some cool costumes. I know I did! Some little girls were a little too slutty for my taste, but for the most part, it wasn't too bad. Did anyone hand out candy laced with marijuana? People kept telling me to vote no on prop 19 yesterday. Shut up! Just don't let your kids eat the home made candy. It's that simple. Mario and Luigi made my sandwich at Jersey Mike's. It was awesome. There were a lot of Mario's last night, which surprised me. Mario has been a big character for a long time. I wonder what caused his costume to be so popular this year.

Now that Halloween is over, we can focus on getting fat and broke. We can eat our lives away during Thanksgiving and Christmas and then spend money we don't have to buy presents for people. Good times! No, in all seriousness, I'm excited for the coming holidays. I never used to like the holidays, but now I love them. It also means a fresh and new beginning. At least it does to me. We can all hope that the next year will have some great things. We can make resolutions that we hope we have the strength to follow through with. It just seems like such a good time. So here's to the first of November and the start of more fun to come!

Also, have you seen the Goodwill Halloween posters? They are so clever. Happy Halloween everyone.

Ghosts?

Has anyone ever been on the Queen Mary? I keep hearing all these commercials on the radio for their Halloween party thing. KROQ always gives away tickets to this event too. I’ve never been on the ship and I’m kind of interested. I read up on the history just to see what all the hustle and bustle is about. I know that everyone says it’s haunted and I wanted to know why, but when I was reading I didn’t read about any crazy deaths that would make it haunted. The only thing I read was someone getting crushed in a doorway, but otherwise it was used in the war and that’s about it. So I’m not sure where the ghosts come from, but they have an entire tour dedicated to these ghosts. I’m interested in checking it out. Tickets aren’t as expensive as I thought they would be. I wanted to go on New Years, but of course it was like $80 per person. So maybe it’s worth a little drive for a fun ghostly tour. I’m always interested in the history of things and the secrets behind them.

The Merch is Here!

Only 1 month, 38 days, 911 hours, and 54,666 minutes until Halloween! I have so many Halloween decorations and I want to put them everywhere. It feels weird putting them up in September though so I have to wait another week until October hits. Halloween is the best holiday ever! We get to dress up, eat candy, drink jello shots at our friends Halloween parties, act stupid, hand out candy to little kids, etc. It’s all just awesome. Plus it’s Fall, which is probably the best season ever and it’s the beginning of the big holiday season. I mean who wouldn’t love that. So you can imagine my excitement when I go to stores and see Halloween candy and decorations everywhere. The most recent find were Halloween Oreo’s.

I’ve seen Oreo add orange filling and what not for Halloween, but this year, they have Halloween shapes on their cookies. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think they’ve ever done this before. They’re super cute too. They have ghosts, bats, witches on broom sticks, etc. So cute! I also went to Bath and Body works the other day just to check out their sale and they have soap dispensers shaped like ghosts and pumpkins. My mom bought my roommates and I some just because they’re so darn cute. The bag they came in is a haunted house too. I love it! Ok, I think I’m done vomiting Halloween joy everywhere. You may now go about your day.

Zombie Time!!!

Sigh. Two more days until that wonderful holiday we all love graces us. My costume is ready, the pumpkins are set, and the candy is waiting to be opened. What a glorious night it will be. I thought it would be good to get us all in the mood with a little Halloween song by the most talented comedic singer ever, Stephen Lynch. This is a man who uses his talents well. I even listened to an audio story I got in my Wend'y kids meal entitled "Zombie's Don't Play Soccer" on the way to work this morning to get myself in the mood. Enjoy! Happy Halloween!!!

More Scary!

Oy vey. So I said Saw was going to be the scary movie this Halloween, but I think I am mistaken. The movie Paranormal Activity comes out soon and is said to be the scariest movie ever. Like ever. It’s about this couple who sets up a video camera while they sleep because the girlfriend thinks there is someone/a spirit in the house. The camera catches all this scary shit. The previews for the movie have me completely scared to shit. They premiered the movie to a Hollywood audience and filmed them and if their reactions are real, than count me out! I believe in spirits and after lives and all that fun stuff, but I prefer to meet a nice ghost like Casper and not someone who is going to bite me and leave bruises or haunt me and try to kill me.

I have only seen a few scary movies in theatres, but I prefer to rent them so I can walk away when it gets too scary. This is one of those movies I will more than likely skip. See for yourself how scary this is.

Scary!

So as we all know it’s October and that means it’s time for horror movies. Time to sit in a theatre with a bunch of youths and jump when the music bumps and scream when scary shit happens. I know this; I did it last year with the movie Quarantine. My friends and I will never forget that movie as long as we live and therefore, I decided to buy it. Why not, I mean it was $10 and it’s like “our movie.” It was worth it to me. Rabies will never be the same.

So this Halloween, Saw is the movie that will haunt us. I talked about Saw a bit ago and how I can’t enter dark places because I fear someone in a pig mask is going to jump out at me and then I’m going to wake up with my eyes sewn shut or something and I will have to find my way out of where ever I am using only the sense of touch and there’s like rusty knives everywhere. Well now Universal has made that movie their Halloween Horror Nights theme. Oh hell no! If I can barely walk around in my own house, I am not going to walk through a maze where I can encounter his freaking doll and some of his favorite traps. Count me out! I used to work at Universal and I know how awesome their mazes can be.

Plus the new movie is coming out. Saw VI. How many of these movies are they going to make?!?! The killer man died in the third movie. What has been happening since he died? I don’t understand. I have seen all of the movies except for the last 2 because I’m a masochist. It terrifies me, but I’m so damn curious! I want to know who the hell is killing these people. And that voice, that voice haunts me. The voice of Jigsaw is on the commercial for Halloween Horror Nights and I pretty much pee myself every time it comes on the radio. I’m alone in the car hearing Jigsaw tell me he wants me to understand the quality of life so he’s going to put me in a trap and show me. I bet you’re peeing right now because I am!

Anyway, Halloween brings some scary ass movies. I’m sure I will see Saw VI at some point just because that’s what I do. I will more than likely wait until it comes to a Blockbuster near me because Quarantine in the theatres was the most terrifying night of my life. There is no where to retreat. You can’t hit pause and you have to watch. Horror movies are best watched during the day with all the lights on and a Disney movie ready to watch after.

October!!!

It is the first day of October and the air feels like fall. October is just a good month. So many awesome things happen this month. Fall actually begins so the air is brisk and nice. The leaves in some states change colors. Not in California because we suck, but back east all the leaves turn bright red and yellow. So pretty.

We all start decorating the house with pumpkins and spiders and witches for Halloween. We start looking for costumes for Halloween and buying huge ass bags of candy to hand to the kids.

We start baking things with pumpkin in them, such as pumpkin bread with chocolate chips or pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. It’s just an awesome month. Who doesn’t love this month!

So that brings me on to something even more awesome. Posh Spice. I know what you’re thinking, what a horrible thing to do in this awesome blog about October, but trust me this is awesome. Everyone always bags on Victoria Beckham because she is so skinny. Here’s where the awesome comes in. There is a game where you can toss food at her to make her eat. It’s called Nosh for Posh.

Hahahaha. How awesome is that?!?! See I told you to trust me. So if you’re bored on this fine day, you should try the game. It’s pretty ridiculous. Happy October everyone!
