It is rare to find strong female comedians who can hold their own. There are plenty of male comedians out there who can get away with anything. They can say anything and do anything and it’s totally fine, but once a female says those things, they are shunned, but there are a few who can get away with it. Kathy Griffin is a good example of a strong female comedian who gets away with a lot. She tells the truth, which is amazing. The difference between female comedians and male comedians is that women kind of tell it like it is. They talk about political issues and what’s happening in the world and kind of make fun of it and put it into perspective where as the men kind of just talk about having sex with a girl.

Margaret Cho’s new comedy DVD “Beautiful” is coming out soon and I was awesome enough to get a first look at the DVD. She gets away with so much it’s awesome. She talks about sex a lot and gay people a lot, but she also talks about the world and how ridiculous we all can be sometimes. The thing I love the most about her is her ability to reenact moments. She is hilarious. She is also on the show Drop Dead Diva on Lifetime. She is very normal on that show and you would never know that she has a potty mouth. Trust me she does! When her DVD comes out, I highly recommend it. Good stuff.

Yet, another state loses the race. I just don’t understand. Voters in Maine decided this week that they do not want to legalize gay marriage. I am truly shocked simply because all of the states in New England are allowing gay marriage except for this one. All of the religious right wing assholes are coming out in full force now. I was watching Margaret Cho’s new show the other night and she made a very good point. She said that no right wing religious freak has any gay friends so they would never have to see it or get invited to the wedding so what the hell is the problem? Why do straight people think that gay people will affect them in any way? It’s not like gay people walk around with signs or display their sexuality. There is no different between a straight person and a gay person. We all have the same parts and the same minds and morals and some may even have the same wacky religious beliefs. So why the hell does it affect you? Guess what, it doesn’t. Me wanting to marry a woman does not affect any straight person in any way, shape, or form. It infuriates me that anyone would think that it does.

I also watched an episode of Grey’s Anatomy for the first time and it happened to be about a daughter whose father did not accept her because she was dating a woman. He sat her down with a priest to “pray the gay away” and her father started receipting bible verses at her and she recited some back that showed that being gay isn’t a sin. Come on religious freaks. Open your stupid little minds. If marrying someone of the same sex makes you happy, than be happy! Don’t let anyone stop you. Come on Obama. Stick up for the people who voted for you because you promised change.
