I hope you’re watching The Voice. It’s kind of a good show. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about it at first. I was scared it was going to be similar to American Idol, but it’s not at all and I totally appreciate that. There are no bad singers on this show. All the bad singers are gotten rid of before the cameras even started rolling. I really like that because I feel so bad for those people on American Idol. They treat them so horribly. The concept of this show is kind of cool. Various singers come out and the judges have their backs turned. This is all based on voice and not looks at all. If the judge likes what they hear, they push a button that turns their chair to face the singer. The singer then has an opportunity to be on that judges “team” to move on in the competition. Sometimes there is more than one judge to turn around and the singer gets to choose which judge they want to work with. If no judge turns, the singer is out. So that’s round one. Round two are the judges working with the singers on their team to make them all awesome. They all sing the same song and the judge has to eliminate the ones they don’t like after that one song. Eventually, it gets down to a few singers leaving America to vote for the one they like best. The winner becomes “The Voice.” It’s a very interesting concept.
The judges are a really cool group: Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton, and Adam Levine. I like that these people are singers themselves so they know how the business works and what people are looking for. American Idol had 2 producers and Paula Abdul. Such a horrible combination. I think only singers can appreciate other singers. I never understood how you could judge a singer when you can’t sing yourself. Either way, this show has an awesome concept and it’s one of the few reality shows I hope sticks around. Check it out when you get a chance. It’s on Hulu if you missed it on TV.

Christina Aguilera just can’t get a break can she? She was all over the news when she flubbed a line of the National Anthem during the Super Bowl and now she’s being harassed because she fell at the end of the tribute to Aretha Franklin during The Grammy’s. I watched that performance and I was kind of bored so I didn’t see the fall live, but I did watch an after video. The camera was so far back that if I didn’t know what I was looking for, I wouldn’t have seen it.
Poor thing. Yes, she messed up a line during the National Anthem and to some that’s a huge deal, but it was nowhere near the ridiculousness that Macy Grey tried to pull off back in the day when she messed up an entire verse. Or as bad as these people:
Christina said she was in the moment and got lost. It happens people. As for falling, her dress looked a little tight and I’m sure her heels were super high. She went to bow and lost her balance. I guess people always need someone to criticize for something. I thought she was awesome in Burlesque and she has one hell of a voice. I think people are just jealous. Sing your heart out girl!

I’ve been excited to see Burlesque and I got the opportunity this past weekend. Going into the movie I thought it would either be super awesome or it would suck big time, but it was neither. It was pretty good, nothing more nothing less. There were some technical issues that I couldn’t get over, like some camera angles were funky and the editing was a little choppy, but if you could look past that the movie was good. I was completely entertained. There were a few parts that seemed forced, but for the most part I was entertained and could turn my brain off and just watch. There weren’t any songs that made me want to run home and download so that was kind of disappointing, but I would see the movie again. It’s one of those movies you watch on a rainy day or when you’re just sitting at home and nothing’s on TV.
Christina Aguilera’s talent was definitely portrayed in this movie. I mean I knew she could sing, but her voice in the movie is amazing. I sort of knew she could dance, but now I know for sure she can dance. Her acting was better than I thought it would be too. Overall, she did a good job. Cher was of course good because that’s just what she does. There was one part of the movie where she sang and it was so random to me. It was as if the producers decided Cher needed another song so they kind of just slipped it in there. Stanley Tucci was amazing as well. I love that guy. He’s always good. Overall, if you’re looking to be entertained, you should see this movie.
I really want to see this movie! I’m not a big fan of Christina Aguilera, but I think I can over look it for a movie musical. The trailer kind of reminds me of Chicago and I loved that movie. I remember seeing it with my parents when it first came out and I remember catching my self with my mouth wide open. Christina Aguilera looks so young in the trailer too. It makes me wonder how long ago this was filmed. I mean she looks the way she looked when she first became known. Since, she has gained a lot of weight and her face has changed a lot. Maybe it’s make up magic, but she still looks super young. Either way, if you can’t find me on Thanksgiving, I’m probably seeing this movie.
