The Proof in the Pudding

I'm in love with Bones. Enough said. I'm in love. I didn't start watching the show until recently and I wonder how I ever lived without it. I started watching the show from the beginning when I first got my wisdom teeth out a few months ago. I needed something to do and decided to watch season one. Sooo good I could barely leave the room! I only had season one on DVD so naturally, I went out and bought season 2-4. Still sooo good. It took me a while to finish season 4 because I was totally milking it. I didn't want to finish season 4 and then have nothing to watch so I kind of let it sit. I got back into it and now I have 4 episodes left until I'm completely caught up and can begin watching season 6 when it airs in September. I watched an episode the other day where Bones and Booth flash back to their first case and oh my God, I could have watched that episode over and over again!

I talked about the book series before and I still haven't been able to read any of the books although it's on my to do list. I'm really hoping the books are the same as the show. Bones in the show is a writer and they talk about her books all the time and you see how similar they are to her real life so I'm hoping this is the same.

So with all that said, the countdown to season 6 of Bones begins. Only 7 more weeks!

Manic Monday

Sigh, another Monday another awesome celebrity to gawk at. Emily Deschanel has become one of my favorite actresses. I freaking love the show Bones. I bought every season on DVD because I want to watch them over and over again. I’m not sure what it is about Emily that makes her awesome. She’s not one of those super awesome actresses, but she does play her part well.

I think she and David Boreanaz make a good comical team. I never liked him until I watched this show and now he’s alright. He was super annoying as Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but he’s definitely grown since then. He was very Kristen Stewart on that show with his over dramatic breathing and what not. I can’t stand that. It’s not acting!

Emily has been spotted multiple times by one of my close friends because they belong to the same theatre company and I am forever jealous. I received texts last night saying she was in North Hollywood and I wanted to drop what I was doing just so I could go down there and shake her hand or something. I have also heard that she’s prettier in real life than she is on TV. That’s rare because usually actors are done up and in real life they just look plain. I would love to meet her and pick her brain. Heck, I want to be on her show. I could spout out big words and make myself look like an anthropologist.

I do have to say that I’m not a fan of her sister, Zooey Deschanel. She creeps me out. I feel like if I were to talk to her, she would start zoning out and just being weird. She seems very flighty and I just can’t handle that. I’m glad Emily seems normal. I wish I could be on her series. That would be so much fun. Sigh.

Revelation!

So I have decided that reality TV is worse than I thought. Not too long ago, I saw a commercial for the show Jersey Shore on MTV about these spoiled kids from Jersey who go to the Jersey Shore for the summer and go to clubs and have sex with everyone. Being the curious little mouse that I am, I decided to check it out on mtv.com just to get a taste of this show. MTV has really gone off the deep end. The show made me utterly sick. Yeah, it made me feel better about myself, but wow. There are really people out there like that? People around my age who represent me and my generation? It brings a tear to my eye. Pick up a book!

So after viewing that train wreck, I decided I need to broaden my horizons and venture away from MTV for a bit. I know, I know. It’s unheard of. I have started to watch the show Bones. I am a fan of Law and Order: SVU and CSI and what not so Bones seemed only appropriate to add to that list. It is an awesome show.

Turns out the show is loosely based on a book series by Kathy Reichs. There are about 10 books in this series. I went to Barnes and Noble and read the first few pages and it seemed like it could be interesting. So not only can I get my fill of non reality TV, but I can read! Take that Jersey Shore losers!
