JCPenny Love!

I am definitely loving JCPenny right now. I love them anyway because they're a one stop shop and they're easy and not Wal-Mart, but now I have one more reason. JCPenny has hired Ellen DeGeneres as their spoke person. I love Ellen as most of you know because she's awesome and she's out and she's proud. But this isn't the main reason for the new love. The reason for the new love is because organizations are speaking out saying this is disgusting and that families will be out raged, but JCPenny doesn't give a shit and that's where my love is coming from. You go JCPenny. If people aren't going to shop at your store because you hired Ellen, than you don't want them as customers anyway. It's time for the world to see homosexuals as people too!

Rapunzel

For serious? Remember how Justin Bieber and Ellen DeGeneres auctioned off a lock of his lesbian hair. Well, now that lock of hair is going on tour. Yup. Mhm. Apparently, you can take a photo with said lock of hair. Really? Are people that freaking insane to want to take a picture with someone’s hair? The only good thing to come out of this insane hair thing is that all the money raised is going to help Japan. There will be a fee to take a photo of course so all of that money will go towards the Japan relief. So I guess after hearing that I’m a little less annoyed/freaked out by the concept. It’s still weird, but I guess as long as something good comes out of it, I can look the other way.

Epic Fail Blog Friday

This is your warning. If you haven't heard of Rebecca Black yet, listen up and then plug your ears. She apparently is the new up and coming female Justin Bieber, but at least Bieber can carry a tune. This girl is awful. Her song has been stuck in my head because it has the same words over and over and I want to scream! She doesn't sing, she talks to an annoying tune. I think she was on Ellen's show the other day and she's just as bad in person. I just...how do these people get record deals? Here is her song. I'm sorry for the torture, but it only seemed right to warn you. Happy Friday!

Fail Blog Friday

Kind of gross. So, I posted that Justin Bieber cut his hair. Well, he went on the Ellen DeGeneres show with a lock of his hair and told her to auction it off for the Gentle Barn charity, which is an animal rescue foundation. He even signed the case he put his hair in. That tiny bit of hair with his signature sold for $40,668 on eBay. I’m happy that the money is going to charity, but holy shit. Part of me wonders if the person who bought the hair is just an animal lover who wanted to send money to the rescue foundation and will just either resell or throw away the Bieber Fever locks. I’m kind of hoping for that actually. No one knows who won yet because the screen name for the eBay winner is "a***0." This person also gets to meet Justin the next time he goes on the Ellen show. I guess we shall see what happens. I’m getting my hair cut tomorrow; maybe I should go on Ellen….

Fail Blog Friday

I'm not sure if this news is sad or good. Ellen DeGeneres is leaving American Idol. I always thought it was odd that she was on the show in the first place and I wanted to watch it to support her, but I hate the show in general so I had a hard time watching. Ellen said the show didn't feel like a right fit for her and to be honest, I don't think it was. She is so much better than that stupid show. She has worked so hard to be where she is and the last thing she needs is to stoop to the level of American Idol. Ellen said she had a hard time telling people they weren't great and hurting their feelings. I can completely understand that. Who is anyone to judge another person. Ellen needs to stick to making people laugh and smile. That's what she was born to do. Happy Friday ya'll.

I'd like to Thank....

I have to say that the Academy Awards are getting better and better each year. They get you in and get you out as fast as they can now. I remember not too long ago when the ceremony was like 6 hours and it started at 8 and ended at midnight. It was just insane. The acceptance speeches would go on forever and it was just boring. This year and last year it was 3 hours long and the mics were turned off after 2 minutes of an acceptance speech. That’s the way it should be.

We are also beginning to see new advances in the way the old men of the Academy think. Black men and women are winning awards. This year was the first year a female won for best director. That’s pretty amazing. It’s beginning to no longer matter what color your skin is or what your gender is. The Academy is beginning to see the talent and that’s the way it should have been all along. Also, congrats Sandra Bullock!

The show was hosted by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin and I’m surprised they didn’t get as much stage time as hosts have in the past. I recall hosts getting to do a lot more than Alec and Steve did last night. I was super excited for them to host because they are both so hilarious. There were definitely funny moments, but I kind of wished for more. I remember when Ellen DeGeneres hosted and she wore the swan dress that Bjork wore. Soooo funny. I love her. Either way, the show was enjoyable. The movie The Hurt Locker walked away with pretty much every award it was nominated for including best picture. I haven’t seen it, but last night definitely persuaded me to see it.

What did y’all think?

You're My American Idol

I am so excited this morning. Wanna know why? Because Ellen DeGeneres is amazing, that’s why. I just read an article about her boosting ratings for American Idol. She brought about the most views since the premiere of the show. The show still brings in a million viewers each season, but Ellen pulled in 28 million viewers in just 2 nights. God I love her. I also heard on the radio this morning that she signed a contract for keep her talk show running through 2014. This means we will never have a lack of Ellen. She is our favorite for a reason.

Let me count the ways. I love Ellen as a comedian because she is real. I know that is cliché to say, but it’s very true. She is a comedian that is suitable for the whole family. There are some comedians out there who say “fuck” after every word for no reason at all. They say it just to say it or they tell dirty jokes. I know some people enjoy that, but I never felt it was necessary. Ellen can go out there and say something silly and it’s hilarious.

I read one of her books and it was quite funny. She does a standup routine before each show and it’s always rated G and very funny.

I posted the speech she gave at a college graduation and she was sincere and was talking about life lessons, but she also found a way to break the sincerity with a little joke. She makes me feel like I can do anything. I see this woman who has gone through so much to get where she is. She has been criticized and torn down and all of the above and she still got to where she is today. That shows us that we can do anything no matter what. She is married to a beautiful woman and has a very successful talk show and has created a very successful spot for herself on American Idol. She has definitely reached new heights. Some people say that when actors start talk shows they are washed up, but not Ellen. I feel as if she has defied all odds. You go girl! I feel like I need to run a mile now or something.

Speak Into the Mic Please

Everyone’s favorite girl, including mine, was on American Idol for the first time last night. It was Hollywood night where all the singers get a second chance to sing for the judges and they pretty much drop like flies. I wanted to watch the show solely because of Ellen; otherwise I could really care less. There was so much controversy behind her coming on the show because she doesn’t know much about music. The first thing she did when she walked out to great all the singers was say, “People keep saying I don’t belong here because I don’t know much about music, but I know how to stand on a stage and try to impress people and that’s why I belong here.” That’s not an exact quote, but it’s pretty close. I was so happy to hear her address that issue. She has been judged her entire career. She’s a female comedian number one and there aren’t many around and number two she came out on her TV show and then the show was canceled because no one wanted to watch a lesbian. I think she is perfect as an American Idol judge, knowledgeable in music or not.

After seeing her as a judge, I would audition for her any day. She was the comedic relief and that is the perfect thing to have when you’re nervous out of your mind. Nerves are always settled when someone makes you laugh. I speak from experience. She was also really nice. She would give her criticism, but she wasn’t mean. She told the truth in a nice way as opposed to Simon who flat out tells people they suck.

Some of these people auditioning are from freaking farms in the middle of no where. They don’t need to hear that they suck, just that they aren’t exactly what the judges are looking for. I loved seeing Ellen’s face and seeing her make everyone laugh. It was a great night of TV watching.

Ppppoker Face

I have suddenly gained a new appreciation for Lady Gaga. I was a fan of her music, but I knew that she was always kind of weird. Her lyrics were kind of weird too. Like that song where she sings about taking a ride on someone’s pogo stick. Wow. Plus her costumes. She has some pretty crazy outfits and after seeing her performance at the VMA’s, she has definitely kept my vote as being weird, but the one thing I did notice was the biggest thing ever. She sings live!!! No one sings live anymore and to add to that, she’s freaking good. She dances, sings, and plays piano. She is super talented.

She was even on Ellen and she sang live and played the piano at the same time. Granted she stood on the piano bench and did weird stuff while she did it, but that’s just her style I guess.

Style and weirdness aside, she has talent. I wish people would show it more. Like Katy Perry for example. That girl can sing and play guitar, but none of her songs portray her talent.

The one thing Lady Gaga is not allowed to do is talk though. She sounds like she is 12 years old. She has this baby voice, but she has a powerful singing voice and this crazy style. To be honest, I almost anticipated her having an accent because not many Americans are willing to think outside the box like she does. But nope, she is all American with a tiny little voice. Check it out for yourself.

The New Face, the Best Face

Many of you may have heard the news already, but if not, that is what I’m here for. Ellen DeGeneres is taking over for Paula Abdul on the American Idol judge’s panel. How exciting is that?!?! American Idol is kind of boring to me. The judge’s panel has always kind of sucked and the talent is never where it can be. I feel like they send people through who shouldn’t be sent through. For example, Sanjaya.

WTF was he doing on the show for so long? That kid CANNOT sing, yet he made it to the finals. I don’t think I have ever watched a full season just because I get bored. The contestants always sing to sing. I have never seen anyone on the show who feels what they are singing. I can stand there and sing on key too, but can you feel it please? It would make watching you so much more interesting.

Now that Ellen is on the panel, the show is guaranteed to be better. People are saying that she has no musical knowledge and this and that, but guess what, neither does Paula Abdul. She can dance, but if she was up there singing, she would be booed. Ellen will add flair and pizzazz to an otherwise boring panel of judges. She is a genuine person so I really don’t care what her knowledge is on music.

She is hilarious and always makes anything and everything interesting. She had some reality show women on her talk show recently and they started fighting and to end the fight, she literally stood on the couch and sat between them. I am going to stop all fights that way from now on.

Long story short, I will more than likely watch American Idol now just to see Ellen. It is nice to see her face anywhere. She represents strong lesbian women everywhere. * Steps down from soap box. * Happy Friday all!
