Good Friday

I think every Friday should be called Good Friday. I mean it’s Friday and that’s good because Saturday is here and then Sunday comes after. Ok, sorry I had to channel Rebecca Black for a second. Well, anyway Happy Good Friday. I have to share this because to me this is very good! I am so excited and I hope Grey’s Anatomy doesn’t do anything to fuck it up. Also, spoiler alert!

Happy Easter and Passover everyone!

Lifetime Movie - One Angry Juror

Sigh. I don't usually watch Lifetime movies, but when Jessica Capshaw is the star I'm all for it. Last night I tortured my roommates and made them watch the Lifetime movie One Angry Juror. One of them was completely opposed until I massaged her shoulders and made her sit and watch and the other likes Lifetime movies and could ignore my little cutsie comments about Jessica.

The movie is a true story, like all life time movies. It's about Sarah Walsh, who is a lawyer who ends up on the juror for a criminal case where a kid is being tried for the murder of another. Sarah finds the guy innocent, while all the other jurors find him guilty creating a hung jury. Sarah ends up becoming the kids lawyer and freeing him from the mess. Jessica Capshaw saves the day!!! I really just need her back on my TV screen. She needs to come back to Grey's Anatomy, realize the error of her ways and get back together with Callie. This needs to happen soon, otherwise I will be forced to watch Grey's re-run and One Angry Juror over and over again.

TV is Back!

I'm so excited for this week. All of our favorite TV shows come back and we even get some new ones. I've been having mini withdrawals here and there. I watched Bones and Grey's Anatomy from the beginning this summer and those are my main shows so my withdrawals weren't too bad. But I miss Glee and Biggest Loser and Hell's Kitchen. I miss watching Gordon Ramsey yell at people. I miss watching Jillian Michaels make overweight people run up hills. Luckily, the shows Master Chef and Working Out With Jillian Michaels held me over for a bit, but it's still not the same. The Jillian Michaels show was so boring I could barely make it through 2 episodes. Master Chef was awesome though.

There are some new shows that seem kind of interesting. No Ordinary Family has me a tiny bit intrigued, but I can see it getting old real fast. I heard it's about a family who gets magical powers after a plane crash or something. Kind of weird, but kind of interesting. There's another show I keep seeing commercials for called The Event. Apparently, it's supposed to be the next Lost. I never watched Lost so it doesn't really appeal to me, but I guess it's worth a shot right. Lost had a huge fan base and I'm sure they're hoping The Event will as well. My roommate refuses to watch it because there have been so many commercials. Usually, that means something is going to suck. I will have to watch it and let you know.

Happy TV watching!!!

Manic Monday

I have a new crush on Kate Walsh. I knew the name and I knew the face, but I never put them together until I started watching Grey’s Anatomy recently. She’s very pretty and she plays an ob/gyn, which is a doctor I always wanted to be, but never actually went through with it. She’s even married to McDreamy in the first few seasons of Grey's Anatomy. Who wouldn’t envy that? Then, to top it off, in real life she saves sea turtles, which are my favorite animal and on their way to extinction. So now I get to call her McDreamy.

Isn’t she just nice to look at too?

Cute Movie Alert

I hate to admit this, but I want to see the movie Killers. I hate Katherine Heigl, but the movie looks cute. Ever since she bashed the writers that made her famous on Grey's Anatomy, I could care less about her. I used to like her when I saw her in the movie My Father the Hero and the Disney movie Wish Upon A Star, but she became a bitch since then. Even the movie 27 Dresses made me hate her. She has the potential to ruin everything she's in now. Kind of makes me sad because I don't mind a romantic comedy every now and then and that's the only movie genre she does now.

Anyway, going back to the movie. Ashton Kutcher can be cute and I would see the movie for him. Plus the movie looks like a comedic version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith and I am freaking obsessed with that movie. So with all of that, this movie has the potential to be entertaining. It comes out on Friday. Anyone want in? Shit gets blown up too!

Couple Crush

This is going to sound ridiculous, but I’m not ashamed to say it out loud. I’m in love with a fake couple. Callie and Arizona from Grey’s Anatomy give me the warm and fuzzies. I find myself watching scenes with the 2 of them over and over on YouTube or Hulu. They had a rough patch on the show recently and it was very sad, but in the season finale last week, they fixed it and hopefully they just keep going up from here. They are just so freaking awesome. They’re loving and caring and everything I want in a relationship and the fact that they’re two girls makes it even better. I have watched lesbian couples on TV before and I never really cared, but there’s something about this couple that I can’t get enough of. Maybe because they aren’t always making out and full of drama. Maybe it’s because they are very real. Also, both actresses are very attractive so that helps. The L Word was full of weird not so attractive girls. The girl Callie dated before Arizona wasn’t so hot so I never really cared about her, plus she treated Callie like crap and Arizona and Callie treat each other very nicely. See, I told you this was ridiculous, but I had to get it out there or I was going to explode. I have to wait the entire summer to see them again. I will just have to rent all of the past seasons and watch them over and over.

That Girl Has Pipes!

We have another very talented, hot chick in our presence, Sara Ramirez (pronounced Sada). You may recognize her as Callie from Grey’s Anatomy or others may know her as the Lady of the Lake from the original cast of Spamalot. Either way, she is freaking talented. This girl has pipes!!! She was the major diva in Spamalot and holy hell can she sing. On the last episode of Grey’s before the holiday break, her acapella version of Silent Night was playing in the background of the dinner scene. I remember hearing it and thinking it sounded very pretty and wondering who sang it. I looked it up and sure enough it was Sara singing her heart out. I have been searching ever since for the MP3 and have yet to find it. Sad face.

Anyway, not only is she talented with pipes, she is gorgeous. She is one of those girls who doesn’t need to be a toothpick to be pretty. She has some meat on her and is gorgeous just the way she is. She also has a great personality off screen according to her interview with Ellen, who brings out the best in everyone. Sigh. Let’s take a look and listen shall we.

Manic Monday

I had the pleasure of being sick this past weekend and we all know what that means; stay in bed and watch a movie. I was actually out and about more than I should have been, but when I got the opportunity, I was in bed watching TV or DVD’s.

I have recently gotten into the show Grey’s Anatomy. I never watched it because I was never one to jump on board the popular train and it just didn’t really appeal to me. People went all crazy over the show and I had never seen an episode. I didn’t know what it was about and I just really didn’t care. I finally sat down and watched an episode and I am happy to report that I am hooked. It is ridiculous. So I sat down with the first season and just started watching. It’s hard to come into a show that has been running for 5 years and understand what’s going on. Characters died and were fired and married people. It’s very hard to wrap your head around 5 years. So I decided that I needed to start from the beginning. It is very interesting to watch the show backwards knowing what happens in the future.

I have heard many people talk about the show saying it’s good, but dramatic. There are definitely parts that seem pretty dramatic. Quite a few people even said they stopped watching the show because they feel it turned into a soap opera. I guess I shall have to see for myself. If you do not currently watch the show, I recommend you come to my house and watch with me. Happy Monday all!

* Steps Up On Soap Box *

Yet, another state loses the race. I just don’t understand. Voters in Maine decided this week that they do not want to legalize gay marriage. I am truly shocked simply because all of the states in New England are allowing gay marriage except for this one. All of the religious right wing assholes are coming out in full force now. I was watching Margaret Cho’s new show the other night and she made a very good point. She said that no right wing religious freak has any gay friends so they would never have to see it or get invited to the wedding so what the hell is the problem? Why do straight people think that gay people will affect them in any way? It’s not like gay people walk around with signs or display their sexuality. There is no different between a straight person and a gay person. We all have the same parts and the same minds and morals and some may even have the same wacky religious beliefs. So why the hell does it affect you? Guess what, it doesn’t. Me wanting to marry a woman does not affect any straight person in any way, shape, or form. It infuriates me that anyone would think that it does.

I also watched an episode of Grey’s Anatomy for the first time and it happened to be about a daughter whose father did not accept her because she was dating a woman. He sat her down with a priest to “pray the gay away” and her father started receipting bible verses at her and she recited some back that showed that being gay isn’t a sin. Come on religious freaks. Open your stupid little minds. If marrying someone of the same sex makes you happy, than be happy! Don’t let anyone stop you. Come on Obama. Stick up for the people who voted for you because you promised change.
