Nonfail Blog Friday

I bought these last night and they’re pretty freaking cool. I wasn’t sure how colorful the bubbles would be, but they’re actually as colorful as the commercial says they are. I got the purple bubbles. Very exciting! Happy bubble weekend everyone!

Major Win Blog Friday

Lady Gaga, you are now my hero! Remember not too long ago how all these articles were surfacing which named a bunch of businesses that supported anti-gay organizations and we all vowed never to go to those places again? Well, we can now cross Target off that list. I sigh with relief because I love me some Target. Lady Gaga has convinced Target to start supporting gay organizations and steer clear of the anti-gay organizations. That’s amazing! She met with them face to face and convinced them to change their ways:

“That discussion was one of the most intense conversations I’ve ever had in a business meeting,” Lady Gaga said. “Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGBT charity groups and begin to reform and make amends for the mistakes they’ve made in the past … our relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community and to redeem the mistakes they’ve made supporting those [antigay] groups.”

After their talk, Target has vowed to donate $500,000 to the LGBT community. Makes me wonder why they started giving money to anti-gay organizations in the first place. Either way, thank you Lady Gaga. And of course Elton John says her new song “Born This Way” is the new gay anthem.

Fail/Nonfail Blog Friday

MTV just keeps bringin' it don't they. Their recent adventure was just announced. They're going to resurrect Teen Wolf, but this will be a full series. Maybe they think this will take the focus off of Skins for a while. People are still fighting about that show. Maybe it will even take the place of Skins. MTV always feels the need to have some ridiculous teen drama going on and let me tell you, I kind of like it. I never saw the original movie, but I can't imagine that MTV will do it any justice. They say it will be darker than the movie. Here's a little run down of what we can expect:

The series centers on Scott McCall as the quintessential outsider, struggling to be recognized in a way that takes him out of high school anonymity. One night, his best friend, Stiles, convinces him to go into the woods to join a police search for a dead body. Scott ends up being attacked by a creature in the darkness, narrowly surviving with a vicious bite in his side. When he wakes up the next morning, he is greeted with strange surprises and a life that will never be the same.

Now I kind of want to watch the original. I wonder how they plan to make this into an entire TV series. Probably the same old shit with the high school trials and tribulations of a teen wolf in high school. Sigh.

Nonfail Blog Friday

Some of you may think this is a fail, but I totally thinks it’s a nonfail, or win depending on how grammatically correct you want to be. I read this article yesterday and it made me laugh. Poor Glee. Guns N’ Roses was asked by Glee to use their songs for an upcoming episode and this is what Axl Rose had to say:

"We got asked about that once already but it got turned down. I draw the line at Glee.Glee is worse than Grease and Grease is bad enough. I look at Grease now and think, 'Between High School Musical and Glee, Grease was a work of art.'"

High School Musical 3 was actually a good movie and Glee can be alright sometimes, but this comment just made me laugh and I had to share. Have an awesome weekend!

Starbucks has changed their logo and dropped the word "coffee" and I’m not going to lie, I kind of like it. The other logo was a little too harsh for me. The colors were dark, but the new logo is kind of whimsical. What do you think? Happy Friday!

NonFail Blog Friday

Sorry I'm late. It's raining and I had an errand to run for work that ended up being a bust, but I'm here now and ready to kick off this Friday! TGIF!!!

The Biggest Loser finale was this week. I watched it yesterday, but not before latimes.com ruined who the winner was with a picture of him on their home page. I was sad. I’ve always been a big fan of The Biggest Loser. It’s just so inspiring to watch these people go through these life changing journey’s. Plus, Alison Sweeney isn’t too bad to look at either.

I always feel bad when I watch the show while eating junk food. Jillian and Bob, the heavy hitting trainers, always tell me to get off my ass and work out. I read that Jillian Michaels is leaving after season 11, which starts on January 4. I’m kind of surprised. If she doesn’t have people to yell at, what is she going to do? It’s rumored that she wants to start a family or something. I always thought she was a lesbian, not to say she can't start a family that way. I was just making an observation.

Sometimes I like her and sometimes I don’t, but considering how many people she’s helped lose weight, she’s pretty cool. So who will take her place next to Bob? Will Bob leave soon after her? I watch the show to see the contestants and the trainers. Bob and Jillian are kind of crazy and fun to watch. I hope this doesn't hurt the show. The new season is bringing in 2 new trainers so maybe one of them will take over for Jillian. Those are some big scary shoes to fill. I guess we just have to wait and see. I'm excited!

Fail/Nonfail Blog Friday

The Walking Dead finale has aired and I want to know what happens next!!!! I want to read the comic books and kind of ruin it for myself. I was reading up on my zombies and The Walking Dead and found out the second season won’t air until October 2011!!! They’re joking right? You can’t do that. You can’t leave an intrigued audience hanging at the end of the finale and then keep them hanging for another year. I call that cruel and unusual punishment. Not only that, but it seems like bad publicity for the show. Will people even remember the show next October? This show makes me want to rent every zombie movie ever and once that’s done, my obsession might cease. Come on AMC. You can’t do this!!! If you haven’t watched any of the episodes, you have to. My mom thinks it’s dumb, but she’s never been a zombie fan. Maybe it’s a generational thing. I want zombies!!! RAWR.

Nonfail Blog Friday

I love scrapbooking, but it's always a pain in the butt. I always lay everything out on the floor in my room and the when I'm done I have to clean it all up and I kind of just want to leave it there. When I put everything away, I'm less likely to take it out again and make something. Plus, now I have a kitten who gets into EVERYTHING. I need an room to myself just for scrapbooking. Yesterday, I was told about this one website called Picaboo that scarpbooks for you. I know it's a cop out, but it's soooo cool. You upload all your images and create your pages and all that fun stuff and they send you a hard copy of what you created. The cost is about the same you would spend on supplies and printing the photos so it's totally worth it. I'm seriously considering leaving all my scrapbooking stuff in the closet and just using this website forever! It's always nice to have a photo album to take off the shelf and look through. It's also a great gift since the holidays are near and they have a 30% off deal going on right now. Sigh. Watch the video, it's amazing. Happy scrapbooking Friday.

Epic Nonfail Blog Friday

Best post ever! I have a favorite blogger that I read everyday and she was talking about this one site called damnyouautocorrect.com. It’s exactly what it says. Freaking auto correction when you’re texting. All those who have iPhones know exactly what I’m talking about. There have been many times where I’m texting and my auto correction kicks in and types something ridiculous so I can definitely sympathize with these people. Sometimes it saves me a lot of trouble, but sometimes it can make people look like dumbasses. I was reading some of these yesterday and I’m sure my coworkers think I’m even more nuts than before. Have fun laughing your head off at your desk and have an awesome weekend!!!

This is kind of cool. I was looking through BBC.com and I found a story about a guy named Ben Wilson who lives in London and he walks around the streets looking for discarded chewing gum to paint on. It’s his way of making trash look pretty. Check it out.

Fail or NonFail Blog Friday?

I'm really not sure how I feel about these pictures. I mean, yes this isn't something I want to see, but I'm not sure how I feel about this in general for the public to see. Glee has such a squeaky clean rep and then they do something like this. Yeah, they can do whatever they want to do, but does this somehow taint their show? Does this make younger girls think that it's ok to suck on a lollipop and spread your legs like that? I'm not a parent, but I probably wouldn't want my teenage daughter to have this magazine. I know that when I look at these pictures it makes me wish my body looked like Lea Michele's. I definitely don't appreciate the view of her crotch at all.

To look at the other side of things, I used to be super obsessed with Jennifer Love Hewitt and I had this binder that I created with all these magazine clippings and magazine covers and what not. Well, there were some pretty crazy pictures of her in there. She posed on the cover of Maxim and stuff like that and my parents were ok with me getting those magazines because I liked the actress and they knew I wouldn't go around flashing my stomach the way she did. I was a tomboy too so I'm sure that helped a little.

I guess now that I'm older and actively watch the show I just feel like these pictures are wrong. Glee has a certain reputation and I feel like showing these actors in this light kind of defeats that. If these actors posed like this individually, it may not have had the strong outburst that it did, but because 3 actors from the show posed together I feel like it kind of deserves a fuss...

Nonfail Blog Friday

It's Friday the 13th. How exciting! Anyway, I saw this the other day and later learned that it was a hoax and it made me very sad, but it's hilarious and share worthy nonetheless.
