Did you know that MTV turned 30 last Monday? I had no idea that it’s been around that long. The network that made all the rock stars and singers famous is now known for ridiculous reality shows like Teen Mom and Jersey Shore. I miss the days when MTV stood for Music Television and there were music videos showing all the time. But I can’t remember the last time I saw a music video playing on MTV. They did away with TRL, which was the last string of hope for music videos. I don’t even know why people make them anymore. The only place to see them now is on YouTube. Obviously, I’m still a big fan of MTV and I watch quite a few of their brain mushing shows, but I feel like they should pull a Nickelodeon and show their old stuff starting at 9pm or something. Reruns of TRL or Making the Video. I would watch that. You do have to give it to MTV though, they’re definitely good at keeping the teen audiences, and sometimes the adult audiences, glued to their TV’s. True Life, Teen Wolf, Awkward, The Challenge, Real World. Those are all entertaining shows. I have a feeling MTV isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Happy belated birthday MTV!

I hope everyone had an awesome weekend. I've been moving all weekend and am still in the process of doing so. I don't have Internet at the moment so I hope to post something later if you can wait until then.

Manic Monday
Sad day. I'm sure you've all heard that on Saturday morning, Amy Winehouse was found dead in her house in London. I was shocked, but not at the same time. I mean, we all knew she had some major drug and alcohol issues and she said herself that they tried to make her go to rehab and she said no. I feel kind of bad because even her mom was quoted saying it was only a matter of time so it seems like no one was able to get through to Amy. She was definitely talented, but a little strange. She falls into that 27 club thing where a handful of rock stars died at the age of 27: Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones and many others. I find that very interesting. Is that like the golden age or something? Like Final Destination seeks rock stars who are 27? Either way it's a shame and my heart goes out to her family and fans.Monday, May 16, 2011

Happy Monday to everyone! Sorry there wasn't a blog on Friday. The site was down and I didn't have the time to keep checking it throughout the day to see if it was up and running again. I hear it erased some people's posts as well. Looks like all of mine are intact.
Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn't stand each other. Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends. I bet it's going to be a very heart warming story. I mean the relationship between Boo and Sully is just too cute in the first one. I'm looking forward to this. Looks like the release date will be June 2013. That's too far!

Not Just Another Manic Monday
I hope everyone had an awesome weekend! I would be silly not to talk about the recent events in America so I will try to be brief, but I feel it's important. First of all, I want to say job well done to Obama. For so long people have said that they're done waiting for him to do what he said he would do. But all along in my head, I kept saying that we just need to wait it out. We all voted for him for a reason and there was no doubt in my mind that something would happen. He just happens to be very sly about it. There was no way he was going to leave office without doing anything. I think he's too good of a speaker and thinker and leader to just leave with nothing. Second of all, I want to say that he is awesome at playing the game. Here's why: He, after a long time of discussion, release his long form birth certificate and at first I was like "what the fuck, that was so unnecessary, screw Donald Trump and what he thinks," but now I see the bigger picture and Obama played the game so well. He released his birth certificate, which of course says he's a citizen and then he freaking kills Bin Laden. It was like a freaking one two punch right to the Republican/Donald Trump/Birther kisser. He can totally now say "screw you" to all of them. The second reason I think he plays the game well is because yesterday right before our people went in and killed Bin Laden, Obama was playing golf. He was telling these troops to go in and kill this dude all while playing golf. The reason he played golf was because if he didn't stay on his normal schedule, people would start to think something was happening. He's very good at keeping people at ease. So again, well done Obama.Of course, I don't think this will end terrorism altogether, but I do think it will weaken Al Qaeda significantly. Yes, there is a successor who they say is smart and uses the internet and social networking to gain followers, but I also hear that not many people like him. That he lacks the leadership abilities that Bin Laden had. But even if Al Qaeda disbands, I think something new will come. There will always be some group targeting us. So my thought is that we should pull out of Afghanistan ASAP. I know that probably won't happen, but it's just a thought from a small citizen.
I know a lot of people are saying that they feel semi safe now that Bin Laden is dead, but I have to say that I don't. I fear for that counter attack. Maybe it won't come for a while and maybe it won't be on American soil, but I know there will be one and that scares me. Obama always had my vote and I will continue to vote for him. I know he will do a good job with whatever America faces. The death of the terrorist leader has nothing to do with my faith in Obama. It helps of course, but I kind of always knew this guy had something up his sleeve. I know there will be many more things to come. Maybe I'm naive when I say any of this, but those are my thoughts for now.

Manic Monday
I hope everyone had an awesome zombie Jesus weekend. I dipped my foot in both the Passover celebration and the Easter celebration. It was definitely a good time and I will never eat again. I definitely have a food baby going on right now. But here we are again enjoying, or not, another Monday morning. And what better way to start this morning than with some awesomeness. This guy on Britain's Got Talent, performed a bunch of nursery rhymes in his best singing voice. Kind of cool, but also kind of silly.

Manic Monday
This past week I watched a lot of movies that I never got to see in the theatres such as 127 Hours, Life As We Know It, and Charlie St Cloud. 127 Hours was awful! It was way too artsy and just blah. I mean there's not much you can do when making a movie about someone chopping their arm off, but the artsy was a little too much for me. Life As We Know It was cute, but way too long. I enjoyed it though and Katherine Heigl wasn't too annoying.
And then we come to Charlie St Cloud. The movie was super sad just like everyone knew it would be and that's why it didn't so so well at the box office, but I do have to say that Zac Efron is going places. That kid has some major talent and he's not bad to look at either. He wears clothes really well and his eyes are VERY blue. So he's definitely not one of those actors who just happens to be good looking and that's it. He's good looking and he has talent. I'm trying to put aside my bias towards High School Musical here. This was the first straight movie I've seen him in and he's got the goods for sure. I really hope he goes far. I really hope that he continues to get these really good roles even if they happen to be in super sad movies. I would watch the movie just for him. He can cry on cue and he's just good. I definitely think he needs to be in more movies like this.

So Ark Music Factory finally posted their "secret" and it looks like all the rumors are true. They charge $2,000 to write you a song, record it, make a video, and then post it on the internet. Not a bad price for all of that I guess. They post it on YouTube and hope it goes viral making you famous. So if you get your 15 minutes of fame like Rebecca Black and then get a record deal, that $2,000 is no big deal at all. Kind of sounds genius to me. I'm sure it costs them nothing to create all of this stuff and then they make some profit. Why didn't I come up with that concept? Seems so simple yet kind of awesome. I think I need to get on that.

Manic Monday
I hope no one floated away this weekend. Yesterday was a little insane. I don't think I've ever seen it rain that much in LA. I was in a bunch of different cities yesterday running around doing all the things and it was just incredible. The LA river was almost over flowing. Some of the water was so high, there weren't even side walks. I got very wet yesterday so I hope the rest of you stayed dry.

I haven't seen a trailer for this movie on TV or in the theatres yet, but I did catch it on someone else's blog and it looks awesome! The movie is called Super, not to be confused with Super 8, which looks awesome too. Super looks like it might be another Kick-Ass. I only saw the first part of Kick-Ass, but from what I saw the movie was pretty good. Super stars Ellen Page and Rainn Wilson. They were really funny together in Juno so I can only imagine that they'll be hilarious in this one. Comic books really aren't my thing, but I think I can put that aside for this movie. See for yourself.

This weekend was filled with food poisoning or something so I didn't really do much, but I did watch a lot of TV. I saw a commercial for this artist named Victor Muniz. The commercial showed him making art with trash and anything else he could get his hands on and it was amazing. I had to rewind the TiVo and watch it again. The cool thing about it is that his work looks amazing and it's not until you get closer that you realize it's trash or toy soldiers or something. See for yourself.
This one is made with trash through and through.
I believe this one is made with coffee.
This is probably my favorite. It's made with different colored toy soldiers.
This, I believe, is maple syrup.

Incredible!

Well, I watched the entire Super Bowl game for the first time probably ever. I was kind of bored and didn't really know much of what was happening or which team was which because they had the same color pants, but the company was entertaining and there was free, good food. I know everyone goes crazy over the commercials, but I have to say I didn't see a single commercial that was super awesome. I saw one that was super bad and disturbing, but there weren't any amazing commercials. Is it always like that or are the commercials going to shit? Either way, I'm going to share that awful commercial with you and I would like some feed back on it. Let me know what you think?

Manic Monday
I hope everyone had a great holiday. Mine was all backwards. I didn't celebrate Christmas until last night, but it was a white Christmas, which was awesome. It snowed in LA! How insane is that?!? I have a million pictures and videos to prove it.
I also got to spend some quality time at Disneyland and I love me some theme park magic. I used to work for Universal on the shows and that was kind of cool, but I never really got into the theme park world until I started working for a theme park design company and then my world exploded. I’m so in love with theme parks and the way they work and the way they make people feel. I want to dedicate my life to that stuff. Anyway, sorry for gushing. I recently saw a leak of the new Little Mermaid ride, Ariel’s Undersea Adventure that is currently being built at Disneyland’s California Adventure. It hasn’t been built yet, obviously, but California Adventure is being completely revamped right now and this will be one of their new rides. Take a look at the breakdown and enjoy.
Scene 1 — The loading area features a panoramic mural with all the main movie characters and a seaside castle.
Scene 2 — Audio-animatronic versions of Sebastian the crab and Scuttle the seagull set up the ride’s back story.
Scene 3 — A blast of cold air and a visual illusion make riders feel as if they are submerging underwater as the clam shell vehicle descends into the heart of the dark ride.
Scene 4 — Riders pass through Ariel’s treasure-lined mermaid grotto with sidekicks Sebastian and Flounder as the song “Part of Your World” plays.
Scene 5 — Sebastian conducts an audio-animatronic orchestra of sea creatures in the ride’s main showroom to the tune of “Under the Sea.”
Scene 6 — In Ursula’s lair, riders pass under menacing rock work as henchmen eels Flotsam and Jetsam lurk nearby during the villainous sea witch’s big diva musical number “Poor Unfortunate Souls.”
Scene 7 — The clam shell vehicle appears to ascend from the ocean depths.
Scene 8 — Ariel and Prince Eric kiss on a rowboat to the strains of “Kiss the Girl” as geysers spout water
Scene 9 — The spell-breaking kiss drives Ursula mad as “Love’s First Kiss” plays amid gathering storm clouds.
Scene 10 — The “Happily Ever After” finale scene has been kept a closely guarded secret by Walt Disney Imagineers.
Scene 11 — Riders unload as Ariel and Eric stand atop the castle, King Triton salutes them from the water and Sebastian waves goodbye.
Here’s an older concept video of the ride. A lot has changed since this video, but it’s a very good example of what will actually be built:

Well, we did it. Americans have taken a very large step in the right direction. Don't Ask, Don't Tell was repealed over the weekend. People can now serve openly. That's huge. I think I realized how huge it actually was when a poll was taken to see how this would affect troops and almost everyone said it wouldn't. Why should it? As long as you're all focusing on the same effort, who cares which sex you like. Who cares!!! So again I say we have taken a huge step. This one step can lead to even more large steps, such as legalizing gay marriage. And then, we've made it. I'm very happy about this and we can only hope for more in the future. I know we will get there.I would also like to point out that Obama is the President while all this is happening. That's all.

Manic Monday
I hope everyone had an awesome Halloween! I hope you all handed out candy and saw some cool costumes. I know I did! Some little girls were a little too slutty for my taste, but for the most part, it wasn't too bad. Did anyone hand out candy laced with marijuana? People kept telling me to vote no on prop 19 yesterday. Shut up! Just don't let your kids eat the home made candy. It's that simple. Mario and Luigi made my sandwich at Jersey Mike's. It was awesome. There were a lot of Mario's last night, which surprised me. Mario has been a big character for a long time. I wonder what caused his costume to be so popular this year. Now that Halloween is over, we can focus on getting fat and broke. We can eat our lives away during Thanksgiving and Christmas and then spend money we don't have to buy presents for people. Good times! No, in all seriousness, I'm excited for the coming holidays. I never used to like the holidays, but now I love them. It also means a fresh and new beginning. At least it does to me. We can all hope that the next year will have some great things. We can make resolutions that we hope we have the strength to follow through with. It just seems like such a good time. So here's to the first of November and the start of more fun to come!

Manic Monday
The weekend went by a little too fast for my taste. I hate that!Anyway, I've never really talked about it and it might not be a shock to anyone, but I kind of love watching the show Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The show is so bad, but so good all at the same time. And of course I watch the spin off as well, Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami. Ridiculous, I know. There's just something about the show. I found 3 full seasons on Netflix and watched them all in like 2 days. Last night was the season finale of the most recent season. I didn't get to watch it because I didn't want to torture my roommates with the show more than I already have so I TiVo'd it and will watch it when I'm alone.
The kids on the show are so freaking spoiled it's kind of gross. The youngest daughters, Kendall and Kylie are 10 and 12 and they already look like they're 16 because they wear make-up and tight clothes.
Bruce Jenner seems to be the only sane one on the show and even then, he can get a little out of hand sometimes. Khloe got married after being in a relationship for 6 months and Kourtney had a baby with a psycho guy who has obviously cheated on her many times. Maybe that's why I like the show so much. Because it shows me how sane my life is in comparison to these people.
I recently read that Kim Kardashian celebrated her 30th birthday and a guy named Nino Selimaj wanted to giver her a cake that cost $1 million. It would have been lined with diamonds. Can you imagine if someone swallowed one of those diamonds? They would probably have to strain their poop for a week to find it. Apparently, Kim isn't that spoiled because she turned down the cake saying "I would never allow anyone to spend that much money on a cake." If she accepted, this cake would have been the most expensive cake ever made. Either way, the Kardashians' have so much money to throw around. On one of the episodes, Kim and Kourtney were betting $10,000 in a family poker game. I mean, who has that kind of money they can just throw away. I know Kim makes the most money because she's a working model and does appearances all the time, but the others just own a clothing store and appear on a reality show. I'm sure they make a butt load off the show and I'm sure their store has over priced clothing, but $10,000 is still a ridiculous amount to have in your back pocket on a daily basis. Don't we all wish we could play poker for $10,000.

They say Hollywood deaths come in 3’s, but recently it seems like Hollywood divorce comes in 3’s. David Arquette and Courtney Cox just recently separated, Christina Aguilera and her husband just got a divorce, and I hear that Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are having issues. Oy vey. I also heard that Spencer and Heidi from The Hills won’t be getting a divorce. That’s one couple that actually needs to get a divorce. The rest kind of make me sad. I could care less about Christina Aguilera to be honest, but the rest make me sad. The Arquette’s have been together for like 15 years. What suddenly changed? I recently saw Twitter pictures of The Kutcher’s and they seem happy so maybe that was a rumor. Either way people, stop breaking up. Maybe you do this for publicity. Who knows. I guess to look on the bright side, all the ladies have something to read about at the hair salon or talk about during house wife lunch dates.

Good morning! Is everyone hating Monday's? I know I am! So let's get started shall we. So you know those old spice commercials with the guy going through various scenes:
Did you know that he never moves? All the scenes behind him move and he's just strung up and placed strategically. Kind of cool huh? Well, I wanted to share the Sesame Street spoof of this commercial. I think it could be better, but it can still put a smile on your face on this crappy Monday.

I have a new crush on Kate Walsh. I knew the name and I knew the face, but I never put them together until I started watching Grey’s Anatomy recently. She’s very pretty and she plays an ob/gyn, which is a doctor I always wanted to be, but never actually went through with it. She’s even married to McDreamy in the first few seasons of Grey's Anatomy. Who wouldn’t envy that? Then, to top it off, in real life she saves sea turtles, which are my favorite animal and on their way to extinction. So now I get to call her McDreamy.Isn’t she just nice to look at too?

Manic Monday
I was channel surfing this past weekend and I came across the movie Freaky Friday on ABC Family. Not the original with Jodie Foster, but the latest remake with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. I haven't seen the movie in a while so I decided to watch it and I forgot how good that movie is. Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan do a really good job. And then it made me sad to see once again how much potential Lindsay Lohan had. She had so much going for her and now she's failed. Miserably. Yes, she's out of jail and in rehab now, but will things ever be the same for her? Britney Spears went from crazy to not too crazy and no one ever looks at her the same. But then again I think about Drew Barrymore and she's just amazing. So it can be done, but which category will Lindsay fall under. Messed up for life or someone who can bounce back and have a normal career and life. It's hard to say. I hope the latter just because her movies are good. I don't think she was in one bad movie until she got crazy. Now she's in some weird movies when people do want to hire her, but her sober movies are good. Mean Girls, Freaky Friday, Parent Trap. Sigh. I guess all we can hope for is a good memory of Lindsay.
