Scream!

Remember in the late nineties when there was a teen horror movie craze? There was I Know What You Did Last Summer and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream 1 through 3. All the teen stars were in these cheesy horror movies and then there were like 5 spoof movies making fun of them. I will admit that I was hooked on those movies. Of course I Know What You Did Last Summer was my favorite because Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sarah Michelle Gellar were the stars. And then when Sarah Michelle Gellar had a scene in Scream it was even better. I was just hooked. Well, looks like Scream 4 is coming out April, 15 2011. I don’t know how I feel about this. Having 3 Scream movies from the beginning was enough for me and then to have the fourth movie released exactly 11 years later is odd. I remember seeing posters for the movie a while back and it was supposed to be released in 2008, but I guess they pushed it another 3 years and changed the cast around. The original cast had Patrick Dempsey in it. How weird would that have been? I don’t think these movies hold up very well now, but then again there are people like me who ate up the phenomenon in the 90's and would more than likely see this movie for nostalgia.

The story is a continuation of the first 3 movies. Sydney Prescott is still the main character in the same town of Woodsboro. Courtney Cox, David Arquette, and Neve Campbell are all coming back to shoot this movie too, which surprises me a little. Like I said, this movie seems like a small mistake and I’m surprised these actors would be ok with doing a 4th movie. Not to mention the fact that the movie is coming out mid April. At least release the movie in October or something. Who the hell wants to see a horror movie in mid April? I will still see the movie, but I hope they step it up. This would be competing with movies like Saw and Paranormal Activity, which are huge right now. Scream seems like such an old school movie in comparison. I guess we just have to wait and see.

Jewel Me

I learned something new the other night and I’m very surprised I never heard of it before. Boys, here’s where things get a little crazy so you can choose to keep reading or not, but don’t blame me for anything. I learned about this new activity some girls like called vajazzling. It’s pretty much exactly what you’re all thinking. You put jewels of your vag. I can only imagine that this would be the most uncomfortable thing ever. As a girl with a vagina, the thought of some jewels on me makes me uncomfortable. Imagine the chaffing. It can’t be comfortable during intimacy for either party, right? Anyway, I was saddened to find out that this new fad became popular because of my fav, Jennifer Love Hewitt. Seriously, type vajazzling into Google and her name is the first thing that pops up. She talked about it on the George Lopez show and how one of her friends wanted to cheer her up after a break up by vajazzling her “special lady.” Barf, who says that? I may need to rethink who my favorite celebrity is after this. Apparently, Jen Love wrote a book, which I didn’t know about either called The Day I Shot Cupid and she dedicated an entire chapter to her vajazzling after her break up. Seriously disturbed right now and so intrigued all at the same time. I really need to find this book and read that chapter.

Anyway, bottom line is why would anyone want to super glue some jewels to their secret places? Guys, if you’re still reading, would you balldazzle? Imagine having sex with a girl for the first time and you drop trow and she’s blinded by your disco balls. Do you dance under them or what? Sorry, maybe I’m going a little over board, but this seems a little ridiculous to me. So Jennifer Love Hewitt, with all do respect, some things are better left unsaid….

Manic Monday

My brain isn't completely functioning yet so bear with me on this one. I spent all weekend moving in the heat so there may be some heat exhaustion going on.

There's one thing that I notice that always seems to make the time go by faster and that's music. While you move, you listen to music. While you straighten you hair in the morning, you listen to music. It's one of those things that just creates enough noise and makes you happy all at the same time. I used to listen to Charlotte Church almost every day on the way to high school and sometimes in the car with my mom. I remember seeing her on PBS in concert and everyone said how amazing she was to have such a pretty voice at such a young age. She became pretty famous by the age of 13. Some people said she was singing incorrectly and may not have a voice much longer etc, but it was still nice to listen to her sing. Then, she got older and wasn’t as cute anymore and there were rumors that she was pregnant. It was just sad to watch her grow up and become kind of weird. I heard on KROQ the other morning that Charlotte has now found her way in life with the consumption of alcohol. I guess she recently split from her boyfriend of 5 years. They have 2 kids together and now she’s a freaking drunk. It makes me so sad! Why do most child stars grow up and do awful stuff? Why can’t they remain cute and grounded and just continue their work? Why do they need to do drugs and drink and have 500 babies and spend all the money they made and OD and die? I would like to see one child star who made it as a child actor to an adult actor without any slip ups along the way who still works steadily. That's the key. There are plenty of child stars who ended up fine, but you will see them on VH1 in a few years on the "Where Are They Now" show. I want to find one who still works now and never had a problem with drugs or alcohol. The only name that comes to mind is Jennifer Love Hewitt, but I'm biased.
