I Think We Have an Emergency

I’m so sad. I’m probably the only one who cares about this, but 2 of the original band members of Paramore have left the band. They’ve gone on to pursue their own music careers. It always kind of baffles me when people do that. You got started with the band and the band is doing well so why leave? Maybe the dynamic in the band isn’t a happy one and they want to leave because of that, but it still seems odd to leave something so successful. It’s like when actors leave very popular TV shows to pursue a movie career and then you never see them again. The rest of the band, including the lead singer are going to stay behind and keep the band going so that’s good news. Not too long ago I heard a rumor that the band split up completely and I was devastated. Hayley, the lead singer is my favorite in the band so that news made me happy, but the 2 guys leaving are major parts of the band.

One is the drummer and the other is lead guitar. They’re both kind of amazing. Sigh. I hope the band doesn’t suffer now that they’re gone. Ok I’ll stop boring you now.

They Are Finally Here

I would like to take this time to interrupt People of Wal-Mart Wednesday and give a shout out to the best night of my life. The Paramore concert is finally here. We were supposed to go on October 1 and right when I was on my way to the venue, I got a call saying it was cancelled. The lead singer had lost her voice. My heart was broken. I keep getting asked if I am excited for tonight and I am trying not to be. I don’t want to be disappointed. I know they won’t cancel and I know it’s going to be awesome, but at this moment I kind of want to go into it not expecting anything. The last two times that has happened, I was disappointed. So I am going into tonight thinking “whatever happens happens and we better have a rockin’ time!” Happy Wednesday all!

Best Band Ever

Last month I dragged my friends to the Paramore/No Doubt Concert. Paramore is another one of those bands that people tend to roll their eyes towards.

Let me tell you. That girl knows how to rock. One of my friends thinks she’s not so great live and I soaked her with a water bottle for making that comment. My boss thinks the band is for children. Um, no. You are all wrong. They have good music. Take a real listen some time.

Obviously, more people were at the concert to see No Doubt so when I was the only one screaming and singing along to Paramore, I was given funny looks.

Well now Paramore is having a concert of their own. How exciting is that?!?! Yes, I am dragging the same friends along. These poor people. How do they handle me? Tickets go on sale Saturday and the show is in October and don’t you doubt that I won’t be up at the crack of dawn trying to get tickets. Woot! Another reason why October is the best month ever.
