Weekend Movie - Horrible Bosses

A lot of stuff happened this weekend. There was "Carmageddon," which was so ridiculous and if I hear one more thing about it I'm going to scream.

And there was the final World Cup Game, which was so intense I don't think I took a breathe for 130 minutes. USA lost to Japan in shoot outs. I could have cried, but I guess Japan has gone through a lot as a nation and deserved the win. I will still wear my USA soccer jacket proudly even though their defense could have been better.
Anyway, amongst all of that, I was still able to make it to the movie theatre to see Horrible Bosses. I don't think I ever would have seen it if it weren't for co-workers telling me how funny it was. And they were right. It was definitely funny. I was laughing throughout pretty steadily. Three friends have these horrible bosses, each for a different reason and one night at the barthey joke about killing their bosses. It later turns into a real plan and they actively try to go out and kill their bosses. In the end, everything works out and they all become happy with their work environments. God I wish it was that easy. I guess a girl can dream. If you have a horrible boss you dream of killing, you have to see this movie. Even if you don't have a horrible boss, this movie is funny and worth seeing. Jason Bateman always makes me laugh.

Los Doyers

I love baseball season. My dad used to have season tickets until they became ridiculously expensive. My family and I used to go all the time. I remember my mom used to have to bring a bag of activities for me because I wouldn't sit still while my brother would sit at attention with his glove ready to catch a fly ball and he did catch one eventually. It's on display somewhere in his old room. It made me sad last night to hear about the ridiculousness that has ensued recently with the Dodgers. Looks like the team is having financial issues so the NLB has agreed to take over. Here's the thing. Is it completely necessary for these guys to make millions of dollars to hit a ball with a stick? Is it necessary for any sports player to make that much money? They're not changing the world or curing cancer or ending hunger. I always thought it was ridiculous to make that much money. Obviously, no one will suggest lowering players salaries in order to fix the financial troubles, but it should be a suggestion. Either way, I just hope the Dodgers don't go away because of this. There are other bigger issues at hand of course, like where the hell is this money coming from and will the fans have to pay for it. I guess we will all just have to wait and see.

Did I Do That?

The other day Kobe was kicked off the court for too many technical fouls and while he was walking to the bench, TNT caught him throwing a tantrum. And in that tantrum, he was throwing out anti-gay remarks at the ref. It makes me laugh that TNT caught this entire thing and now Kobe owes $100,000 in fines. Jeesh, I wish we could do that to everyone who made anti-gay remarks. I’m not sure where that money would go, but it sure as hell would stop people from saying bad things. Obviously, this being caught on camera is the reason he was fined and I’m sure if the camera didn’t catch him he wouldn’t be punished at all. But then again, if the camera didn’t catch him, no one would even know he made these comments. Either way, I’m happy he’s being punished. $100,000 is probably pocket change to him though. Turns out too, that the NBA was about to release a public service announcement campaign with the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) in order to present the league as being more "gay friendly." Guess they failed there. Good job Kobe. Stick it to the kids.

Play Ball!

Major League Baseball is under way and I’m super excited. I freaking love sitting in the stands doing the wave and rooting for the Dodgers and in some cases the Rockies. I grew up in those bleachers and I love it. The hot dogs and frozen yogurt. The smell of beer on the crazy guy screaming at the pitcher. It’s like home. My family has had season tickets every year since I can remember except for last year because of the economy, but we have them again this year and I’m going to try to go to every game. Our season seats are right behind home plate in what used to be the orange section and fly balls pop up there all the time. My brother caught one when we were little and I got hit with one not too long ago. Those are some good times. I even bought my brother a Dodgers belt buckle this past Christmas. I’m so ready to melt in that sun!

Pass the Dip

So here we are a day late talking about the Super Bowl, which I keep accidently calling the Rose Bowl. It’s obvious I’m from LA. I watched the majority of the game and it was a pretty good game. I have never been one to pay close attention to football, but when it comes to watching big games I will watch closely. I never understood how football worked until recently. I needed a friend to explain it to me. Sigh. I’m a futbol player not a football player. I played all sports except football. In middle school I was asked to play in the powder puff game. I played every other sport and they wondered why I didn’t sign up for this one. It was only because I didn’t know/understand how to play and I didn’t want to make a fool out of myself, but now I understand the game a bit better. I still don’t think I could go out there and play though. Anyway, I digress. I am here to talk about the commercials. There are a lot of people who only watch the Super Bowl for the crazy ads. Hulu now has a channel dedicated to them so you don’t have to watch the game at all!

Here are some commercials played during the game:

This one is cool not because of the commercial, but beacuse of what it's advertising. I am going to this park no matter what the cost. My only concern is that it's Universal. Disney would have made it amazing without a doubt, but Universal. I'm not so sure.

This one makes me freaking sick. Why does everyone think she's hot. I think she is really dumb and that automatically makes her super ugly to me. She is conceited and just bleh.

I just freaking love these commercials. They crack me up and they are so awesomely done.

This one is awesome. I want armor made out of Doritos!

Last, but not least. I don't think this one was played during the game, but I saw it last night and it made my day.
