Build-A-Nightmare

This past weekend, my friends and I decided to wander the mall after a long day and one of the stores we went into was Build-A-Bear. I always forget this store exists, which makes me sad because it’s the perfect place to buy a present for any girl for any occasion. Girls love receiving teddy bears in little outfits. I forget about that every time I need to buy a gift for a girl friend. But, there is one thing that bothers me a bit about this store. It doesn’t seem suitable for kids because you see the bears/animals on display and pick out your favorite and then you retrieve the carcass so you can build your furry friend! As a little kid, I would cry. “Mommy, why does my bear look dead?” “Oh, it’s ok honey, we’re going to stuff some life into right now.” Oy. It all just seems so wrong. Of course, the outcome is super cute and freaking lovable, but seeing bear carcass everywhere freaks me out just a little bit. I don’t think I would ever let my child into the store. I would go online and ask which one they want and then I would have it made for them. I don’t want my kids to have nightmares where bear carcasses are eating them.
