New show alert. I love it when a new and good show comes into our midst and I love it even more when that show is based on a book series. The show Past Life first aired about 2 weeks ago. I have to admit that I was a little skeptical. The show is about people who see their death/murder from their past life and are aided by detectives and a doctor to find their murderer. It seems like one of those shows that would be the same thing over and over like Ghost Whisperer. I love the show and Jennifer Love Hewitt, but have you ever tried watching that show in succession? It’s the same thing over and over. She finds out what happens to the ghost she sees, crosses them over into the light, and then they all live happily ever after until the next episode where she does it all over again. I fear this show may be similar, but it’s only had 3 episodes, so my fingers are crossed. So far so good.
I did notice during the opening credits of the second episode that it’s based on a book series called The Reincarnationist by M.J. Rose. The series consists of 3 books. I read an excerpt of the first book and I would totally buy these books. They seem pretty well written to me. I freaking love it when good shows are created from good books. Yay Bones and Past Life!
