Weekend Movie - The Blind Side

I hope everyone had a turkey filled holiday weekend. I know I did and please don’t ever let me eat again. That would be good. I had 2 Thanksgiving’s and a big birthday dinner last night. I feel like I am going to explode. Bleh. Food is good, but never that good.

This weekend the parentals and I saw the movie “The Blind Side.” If you’re unfamiliar, it’s a true story about a white woman who takes in a black boy and educates him and helps him get a scholarship to collage. He eventually becomes a pro football player. Sandra Bullock is the star of this movie and I like her. I know some people can’t stand her especially when she is putting on a southern accent for 2 hours, but let me tell you she is awesome. I loved her even more in this movie. Yes, she is known for her romantic comedies and she does well in those, but she has definitely branched out with this movie. She shows range and great character. Tim McGraw played her husband. It was surprising to see his name in the opening credits and then during the movie, I didn’t even realize it was him. When the credits started rolling we all realized which character he played.

It’s awesome how this woman took this boy in. She saw him walking in the cold one day and asked if he had a place to go and the rest is history. Feel good movies are always awesome, but when the story is true, it’s even better.
